163. וְאַחַר כָּךְ מַה כָּתוּב? חַיִּים וָחֶסֶד עָשִׂיתָ עִמָּדִי – זוֹ רוּחַ הַחַיִּים. (וְאִם תֹּאמַר), הֲרֵי כָּתוּב עָשִׂיתָ עִמָּדִי, וְלֹא כָתוּב תַּעֲשֶׂה! אֶלָּא כָּךְ אָמַר, חַיִּים וָחֶסֶד עָשִׂיתָ עִמָּדִי. בְּאוֹתוֹ עוֹלָם זָרַקְתָּ בִּי רוּחַ חַיִּים, אֲבָל וּפְקֻדָּתְךָ – שֶׁמַּלְכַּת הַמֶּלֶךְ – שָׁמְרָה רוּחִי, הִיא שָׁמְרָה אֶת רוּחִי בְּאוֹתוֹ עוֹלָם. מַה זֶּה וּפְקֻדָּתְךָ? שֶׁאַתָּה עָתִיד לִפְקֹד אוֹתָהּ בַּתְּחִלָּה.164. 165. כְּמוֹ זֶה אָמַר דָּוִד, (שם פו) שָׁמְרָה נַפְשִׁי כִּי חָסִיד אָנִי. שָׁמְרָה – זוֹ מַלְכַּת הַמֶּלֶךְ, שֶׁהִיא שָׁמְרָה נַפְשִׁי, בִּגְלַל כִּי חָסִיד אָנִי. וּבְכָל מָקוֹם שֶׁכָּתוּב סְתָם – זוֹ הַמַּלְכָּה, כְּמוֹ שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר וַיִּקְרָא אֶל מֹשֶׁה, (שמות טו) וַיֹּאמֶר אִם שָׁמֹעַ תִּשְׁמַע בְּקוֹל ה’ אֱלֹהֶיךָ.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Pinchas 163-165<\/strong><\/p>\n

Psalms 109:8<\/a>
\n“ יִהְיוּ-יָמָיו מְעַטִּים; פְּקֻדָּתוֹ, יִקַּח אַחֵר ”
\n“Let his days be few; let another take his charge (פְּקֻדָּתוֹ). ”<\/p>\n

The above verse teaches us that a wicked person that didn’t reveal much light in his life will not come back again and whatever good he had, will go to another.<\/p>\n

The keyword is פְּקֻדָּתוֹ with the root of פקד. This word has very deep meaning that is related to a spiritual process of bringing light to something. The process of injecting life into a barren woman is called פקידת עקרה, loosely translated as ‘visiting on a barren’.<\/p>\n

Joseph<\/a> prophesied that God will redeem the Israelites<\/a> from Egypt and he had sworn them to take his bones with them on the way to the Holy Land.<\/p>\n

Exodus 13:19<\/a>
\n“וַיִּקַּח מֹשֶׁה אֶת-עַצְמוֹת יוֹסֵף, עִמּוֹ: כִּי הַשְׁבֵּעַ הִשְׁבִּיעַ אֶת-בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, לֵאמֹר, פָּקֹד יִפְקֹד אֱלֹהִים אֶתְכֶם, וְהַעֲלִיתֶם אֶת-עַצְמֹתַי מִזֶּה אִתְּכֶם ”
\n“And Moses took the bones of Joseph<\/a> with him; for he had straitly sworn the children of Israel<\/a>, saying: ‘God will surely remember (פָּקֹד יִפְקֹד) you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you. ”<\/p>\n

The bones, as we previously learned, carry the highest level of a person’s energy.<\/p>\n

The Zohar reveals to us that the righteous souls are held for protection under the Holy Throne.<\/p>\n

Every night before going to sleep we close the meditation with the following verse<\/p>\n

Psalms 31:6<\/a> “בְּיָדְךָ, אַפְקִיד רוּחִי: פָּדִיתָ אוֹתִי יְהוָה–אֵל אֱמֶת ”
\n“Into your hand I commit (אַפְקִיד, פקד) my soul; you have redeemed me, YHVH<\/a>, God of truth (אֵל אֱמֶת). The last two words connect us to Chessed<\/a> and the central column.<\/p>\n

With this verse we release the souls to the spiritual levels to be supported and protected until they return in the morning in a better state.<\/p>\n

When we leave this world the soul goes through a cleansing process and if the entire Tikkun process is finished, then the soul is saved and protected in the higher levels until the Final Redemption and the Resurrection when it will return to this world.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of the morning blessings we say:
\n“אֱלֹהַי, הַנְּשָׁמָה שֶׁנָּתַתָּ בִּי טְהוֹרָה–אַתָּה בְרָאתָהּ, וְאַתָּה יְצַרְתָּהּ, וְאַתָּה נְפַחְתָּהּ בִּי, וְאַתָּה מְשַׁמְּרָהּ בְּקִרְבִּי, וְאַתָּה עֲתִיד לִטְּלָהּ מִמֶּנִּי, וְאַתָּה עֲתִיד לְהַחְזִירָהּ לִי לָעֲתִיד לָבוֹא; וְכָל זְמָן שֶׁהַנְּשָׁמָה בְקִרְבִּי, מוֹדֶה אֲנִי לְפָנֶיךָ ה’ אֱלֹהַי, רִבּוֹן כָּל הַמַּעֲשִׂים; בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה ה’, הַמַּחְזִיר נְשָׁמוֹת לִפְגָרִים מֵתִים. ”<\/p>\n

“God, the soul that you gave me, is pure – you created it, and you have formed it, and you blew it into me, and you guard it inside of me, and in the future you will take it from me, and you will return it to me in the future to come, and as long as the soul is within me, I thank you my God YHVH<\/a>, Master of all actions; Blessed are You, Who restores souls to dead bodies.”<\/p>\n

The daily process of the soul leaving the body and coming back to life in the morning is a cycle of work and rest. At the end of the ‘night’, which is life of working on the Tikkun, we will ‘wake up’ to a new life that is beyond our dreams.<\/p>\n
