291. ש’ שֶׁל תְּפִלִּין, הֲלָכָה לְמֹשֶׁה מִסִּינַי. (דברים כח) וְרָאוּ כָל עַמֵּי הָאָרֶץ כִּי שֵׁם ה’ נִקְרָא עָלֶיךָ וְיָרְאוּ מִמֶּךָּ. וּבֵאֲרוּהוּ – מַהוּ שֵׁם ה’? אֵלּוּ תְּפִלִּין שֶׁבָּרֹאשׁ. ש’ שֶׁל תְּפִלִּין. שְׁתֵּי שִׁינִין – שֵׁשׁ מֵאוֹת. שֵׁשׁ מַדְרֵגוֹת וְשִׁבְעָה עֲנָפִים שֶׁל שְׁתֵּי שִׁינִים – הֲרֵי שְׁלֹשָׁה עָשָׂר, וְהַכֹּל תרי”ג. וְאֵין מִצְוָה שֶׁאֵינָהּ שְׁקוּלָה לְכָל הַתּוֹרָה.

Deuteronomy 28:10<\/a>
\n“וְרָאוּ כָּל-עַמֵּי הָאָרֶץ, כִּי שֵׁם יְהוָה נִקְרָא עָלֶיךָ; וְיָרְאוּ, מִמֶּךָּ.”
\n“And all the peoples of the earth shall see that the name of YHVH<\/a> is called upon you; and they shall be afraid of you. ”<\/p>\n

The Zohar tells us that the ‘name of YHVH<\/a> upon you’ is the Tefilin of the head. It has four chambers for the YHVH<\/a> name with four sections from the Torah. On the outer two sides there are two letter Shin ש , on one side it has three heads and on the other the Shin has four heads.
\n\"Tefillin\"<\/a>
\nThe two letters ש ש numerically 600 represents the six levels of Zeir Anpin<\/a>, Chessed<\/a>, Gevurah<\/a>, Tiferet<\/a>, Netzach<\/a>, Hod<\/a> and Yessod<\/a>.
\nThe ש on the right has three ‘heads’ and the one on the left has four ‘heads’. Together they are seven and with the represented six Sefirot we have thirteen. Together with the value of the two ש we get 613 as the number of all precepts in the Torah.<\/p>\n

This is one of the reasons why a child can not wear Tefilin before he is 13 years old.<\/p>\n

The Zohar adds that every precept is considered as the entire Torah and refers to the secret from the verse in Exodus 3:15<\/a>
\n“ זֶה-שְּׁמִי לְעֹלָם, וְזֶה זִכְרִי לְדֹר דֹּר”
\n“this is My name (שְּׁמִי) for ever, and this is My memorial (זִכְרִי) unto all generations.”<\/p>\n

Every Precept is a connection of upper and lower levels. יה YH and וה VH. יה with שְּׁמִי = 365 as the number of precepts of “you shall not do…” and וה with זִכְרִי is 248 as the number of proactive precepts of “Do…”. Together equal to 613.<\/p>\n

In addition the word for precept is מצוה. The VH וה represents the lower level and our work in this world. It touches the מצ numerically 130 as 10 times אהבה ‘love’. When the מצ is replaced with the letters form the opposite direction (אתב”ש) it makes the letters יה and when we add them to the וה we have the full name יהוה YHVH<\/a>.<\/p>\n

When we follow the precepts of the Torah with love, we make a true connection to YHVH<\/a>. The outcome is, as it said in the verse above, “and they shall be afraid of you.”<\/p>\n
