\n383. פָּתַח וְאָמַר רַבִּי פִּנְחָס עַל זֶה, (תהלים ס) לַמְנַצֵּחַ עַל שׁוּשַׁן עֵדוּת מִכְתָּם לְדָוִד לְלַמֵּד. מַהוּ לְלַמֵּד? לְלַמֵּד לִבְנֵי הָעוֹלָם חָכְמָה. וַהֲרֵי פֵּרְשׁוּהוּ, שׁוּשַׁן עֵדוּת – אֵלּוּ סַנְהֶדְרִין גְּדוֹלָה, שֶׁכָּתוּב בָּהּ (שיר השירים ז) סוּגָה בַּשּׁוֹשַׁנִּים. מִכְתָּם לְדָוִד – סִימָן שֶׁהֶרְאוּ לוֹ, לְדָוִד, כַּאֲשֶׁר שָׁלַח לְיוֹאָב לַאֲרַם נַהֲרַיִם וְלַאֲרַם צוֹבָה לְהִלָּחֵם בָּהֶם. אָמַר רַבִּי פִּנְחָס, זֶהוּ שׁוּשַׁן עֵדוּת שֶׁקַּיָּם כָּאן. הֲרֵי הַכּוֹכָבִים בַּשָּׁמַיִם, שְׁכִינָה עָלֵינוּ, וּמַדְרֵגוֹת עֶלְיוֹנוֹת עִמָּהּ, וְעֶזְרָה קְדוֹשָׁה לְשֶׁבַח. זֶהוּ שׁוּשָׁן בִּשְׁלֵמוּת כְּמוֹ שֶׁצָּרִיךְ. קָמוּ וְהָלְכוּ אֵלּוּ לְכָאן וְאֵלּוּ לְכָאן. הָלַךְ לוֹ רַבִּי פִּנְחָס וְלָן בִּכְפָר עֲקִימִין, וְרַבִּי יִצְחָק וְרַבִּי חִיָּיא עִמּוֹ.\n

384. עַד שֶׁהִקְדִּימוּ לָלֶכֶת, יָשְׁבוּ וְחִכּוּ לְאוֹר הַבֹּקֶר. זָקַף עֵינָיו רַבִּי חִיָּיא וְרָאָה אֵלּוּ כּוֹכָבִים שֶׁל שַׁרְבִיט שֶׁרָצִים וְהוֹלְכִים. אָמַר, וַדַּאי בְּכַמָּה פְעָמִים שָׁאַלְתִּי עַל אֵלּוּ הַכּוֹכָבִים.<\/p>\n

385. אָמַר רַבִּי פִּנְחָס, אֵלּוּ הַכּוֹכָבִים שֶׁל שַׁרְבִיט יְדוּעִים בַּהֲבָנָה שֶׁל הַחֲבֵרִים, שֶׁהֲרֵי הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא בָּרָא אֶת כָּל אוֹתָם כּוֹכְבֵי הָרָקִיעַ, גְּדוֹלִים וּקְטַנִּים, וְכֻלָּם מוֹדִים וּמְשַׁבְּחִים לְהַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא (שֶׁכָּתוּב (תהלים קמז) מוֹנֶה מִסְפָּר לַכּוֹכָבִים). וְכַאֲשֶׁר מַגִּיעַ זְמַנָּם לְשַׁבֵּחַ, קוֹרֵא לָהֶם הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא בְּשֵׁם, שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר (ישעיה מ) לְכֻלָּם בְּשֵׁם יִקְרָא. וְאָז רָצִים וּמוֹשִׁיטִים שַׁרְבִיט שֶׁל אוֹר לָלֶכֶת לְשַׁבֵּחַ לְקוֹנָם, בְּאוֹתוֹ מָקוֹם שֶׁנִּצְטַוּוּ. זֶהוּ שֶׁכָּתוּב (שם) שְׂאוּ מָרוֹם עֵינֵיכֶם וּרְאוּ מִי בָרָא אֵלֶּה וְגוֹ’. תּוֹךְ כְּדֵי כָּךְ עָלָה הָאוֹר. קָמוּ וְהָלְכוּ.\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Pinchas 383-385<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rabbi Pinchas<\/a>, Rabbi Chiah and Rabbi Yitzchak were waiting for the morning light after their night study. Rabbi Chiyah looked up to the sky and saw a comet, which is a star moving in the sky with a trail of light behind it. He asked for the meaning of this phenomenon and Rabbi Pinchas<\/a> answered that the Holy one created all of them, small and big. When they are called by name, they run with a wand of light to praise their creator.<\/p>\n

Psalms 147:4<\/a> “ מוֹנֶה מִסְפָּר, לַכּוֹכָבִים; לְכֻלָּם, שֵׁמוֹת יִקְרָא.”
\n“He assigns number to the stars; He gives them all their names.”<\/p>\n

This Zohar study reveals to us that we are all part of one system that is created and recreated every second. From our point of view it looks like God created the world and left it for us to do our part but the scientific fact is that the whole universe is a pattern of energies that is held by the thought of the Creator. If he changes his ‘mind’, everything will cease to exist in an instant.<\/p>\n

Rabbi Pinchas<\/a>, who was the father in law of Rabbi Shimon and the two students, acknowledged the presence of God in everything by quoting Isaiah 40:26<\/a><\/p>\n

“שְׂאוּ-מָרוֹם עֵינֵיכֶם וּרְאוּ מִי-בָרָא אֵלֶּה, הַמּוֹצִיא בְמִסְפָּר צְבָאָם; לְכֻלָּם, בְּשֵׁם יִקְרָא, מֵרֹב אוֹנִים וְאַמִּיץ כֹּחַ, אִישׁ לֹא נֶעְדָּר. ”<\/p>\n

“Lift up your eyes on high, and see: who has created these? He that brings out their host by number, He calls them all by name; by the greatness of His might, and for that He is strong in power, not one is missing.”<\/p>\n

The aspect of counting and numbers is the process of limiting the Light of the Creator into something of a lower level that we can experience in our senses and be able to connect to it on some level.<\/p>\n

Giving names is the assigning of purpose and a mission to a specific part of the whole. With the name, it can fulfill its purpose.<\/p>\n

If you know a little Hebrew, then you can see the relation between the name, שם and the ‘action’ words משימה (mission), לישם (to apply), נשמה (soul).<\/p>\n

“He calls them all by name”, we may not grasp it but as the Zohar teaches us, EVERYTHING around us has a meaning and a purpose. ‘He is strong in power, not one is missing’. EVERYTHING!<\/p>\n
