When the eagle arrived to the great darkness he descended with King Solomon under his left wing. Then he stood on the chains that held Azah and Azael in their place. Solomon took a ring with a holy name and placed it in the eagle’s mouth. At that time the chained angels revealed to King everything he desired to know about the secrets of the spiritual system.<\/p>\n

In Zohar Mishpatim we read the deeper explanation that was revealed in the Zohar by the ‘elder’;<\/p>\n

In the English Zohar Mishpatim, Vol 10 you can read it beginning with paragraph 340. Unfortunately the English translation in most cases doesn’t bring the entire commentary of Rabbi Ashlag as it exists in the original Hebrew Zohar.<\/p>\n

King Solomon was getting up early morning every day to make unifications and draw the light of Chokma<\/a>. He did it when it was still dark because Chokmah<\/a> controls the night. King Solomon unified the three columns<\/a> while facing the East that is the Central Column. Then he saw a Chokmah<\/a> through the aspect of eye sight (ראיה). Then he turned to the south that is right column<\/a> and to the North that is Left column<\/a> and the source of Chokmah<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Eagle is the aspect of the central column that is the highway to the upper levels. The Tree of Life<\/a> ‘height’ is measured as 500 Parsec פרסה, a word that when we rearrange the letters can be read as ספירה Sefirah. The 400 Parsec that the Eagle took from Solomon were the ascending process to the level of Chokmah<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Chokmah<\/a> is considered as darkness because it is the source of light that can not be revealed without light of Chassadim<\/a>. It is similar to the aspect of the rays of the sun traveling in space. Their energy is immense but only when we have a vessel that is a form of restriction and limitation, Chokmah<\/a> can be revealed.<\/p>\n

“ וַיִּבֶן שְׁלֹמֹה אֶת-גָּזֶר, וְאֶת-בֵּית חֹרֹן תַּחְתּוֹן ”
\n“וְאֶת-בַּעֲלָת וְאֶת-תמר (תַּדְמֹר) בַּמִּדְבָּר, בָּאָרֶץ ”
\n“And Solomon built Gezer, and Beth-horon the nether ”
\n“and Baalath, and Tadmor in the wilderness, in the land”<\/p>\n

The Zohar tells us that when the bible says ‘built’, meaning the act of building, בניה, it is the expression of understanding. This word also spells ‘Binah<\/a>’ בינה, that means ‘understanding’. Solomon was actually looking in his mind to understand the wisdom. The Great Eagle is the aspect of Binah<\/a> that connects to Chokmah<\/a> to carry its light to Malchut<\/a>. The Wings are Right and Left of Binah<\/a> and also called Pillar of Fire (left) and Pillar of cloud (right) that connect to Malchut<\/a>.<\/p>\n

King Solomon used a holy name when he was in the ascending process through the central column. He was ‘riding’ with Binah<\/a> to the level of Chokmah<\/a> that is darkness as explained above. The name he used was a shield to protect his soul from falling to the other side<\/a>. It is similar to the protection of atmosphere and the ozone layer from direct contact with the deadly rays of the sun.<\/p>\n

The two angels, Azah and Azael represent a bridge that binds Chokmah<\/a> on the upper level and the Chokmah<\/a> on the lower level.<\/p>\n

The level of connection to Chokamh\/wisdom of King Solomon brought peace on earth for many years. When we connect to the wisdom of the Zohar, we draw similar energy to our lives and the world around us. For most people it doesn’t look like much but the fact is that there could’ve been great terror and chaos in the world without the Zohar.<\/p>\n
