488. וּמִשּׁוּם זֶה י’ מִן שַׁדַּ”י, שֶׁהִיא חֻלְיָה שֶׁל הַשַּׁלְשֶׁלֶת, מִמֶּנָּה (מְפַחֲדִים) מְפֻזָּרִים כָּל שֵׁדִים וּמַזִּיקִים, וּמִיָּד שֶׁרוֹאִים אוֹתוֹ בַּמְּזוּזוֹת שֶׁל הַפְּתָחִים, בּוֹרְחִים, שֶׁבָּהּ נֶאֱמַר (תהלים קמט) לֶאְסֹר מַלְכֵיהֶם בְּזִקִּים וְנִכְבְּדֵיהֶם בְּכַבְלֵי בַרְזֶל. כָּל שֶׁכֵּן כַּאֲשֶׁר רוֹאִים אוֹתוֹ בְּאוֹת שֶׁל תְּפִלִּין שֶׁעַל הַזְּרוֹעַ, וּרְשׁוּמִים בָּהּ בְּאוֹת בְּרִית בִּבְשָׂרָם, (במדבר א) וְהַזָּר הַקָּרֵב יוּמָת. אֵין זָר אֶלָּא יֵצֶר הָרָע, שֶׁדּוֹמֶה לְכָל חַיּוֹת וְעוֹפוֹת דּוֹרְסִים.<\/p>\n

2 Kings 2:11<\/a>
\n“וַיַּעַל, אֵלִיָּהוּ, בַּסְעָרָה, הַשָּׁמָיִם.”
\n“and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven”<\/p>\n

Elijah, who is Pinchas, ascended up to heaven by the power of the letter י Yod. Pinchas earned the Yod of יהוה YHVH<\/a> with his elevated consciousness and also earned the י Yod of אדני ADNY with his action on the physical level, which is Malchut<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Elijah was not dead when he ascended to heaven. He has a strong connection to the upper name YHVH<\/a> and the lower name ADNY. It gives him the ability to move between spiritual and physical dimensions.<\/p>\n

The Zohar quotes the sages saying “Who is a hero? The one that conquers his desire.” The desire is the evil inclination that always pull us toward the material existence and physical pleasures. Elijah\/Pinchas could control the negative side and made it as a vehicle to ride on. Since he was no longer bound by the forces of gravity to matter, he could move between worlds.<\/p>\n

The aspect of matter is referenced by the Zohar as חמור ‘Donkey’. It has the same letters as חומר, ‘Matter’.<\/p>\n

Genesis 22:3<\/a>
\n“ וַיַּשְׁכֵּם אַבְרָהָם בַּבֹּקֶר, וַיַּחֲבֹשׁ אֶת-חֲמֹרוֹ”
\n“And Abraham rose early in the morning, and saddled his ass (Male donkey)”<\/p>\n

When Abraham was instructed to take Isaac for the binding, he rose in the morning, which is the aspect of Chessed<\/a> and ‘saddled his donkey’, which means that he rose above matter. It was pure spiritual connection for him.<\/p>\n

Zechariah 9:9<\/a>
\n“גִּילִי מְאֹד בַּת-צִיּוֹן, הָרִיעִי בַּת יְרוּשָׁלִַם, הִנֵּה מַלְכֵּךְ יָבוֹא לָךְ, צַדִּיק וְנוֹשָׁע הוּא; עָנִי וְרֹכֵב עַל-חֲמוֹר, וְעַל-עַיִר בֶּן-אֲתֹנוֹת.”
\n“Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion<\/a>! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem<\/a>! Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.”<\/p>\n

This verse from Zechariah’s prophecy describes the coming of Mashiach. He is a humble (poor) king because he has nothing of his own. He is just a pure channel bringing the light to the world. His purity gives him the ability to ‘ride’, meaning having control over all levels and aspects of matter.<\/p>\n

Some of you may have a question about Balaam that the Torah mentions in (Numbers 22:21<\/a>) “וַיָּקָם בִּלְעָם בַּבֹּקֶר, וַיַּחֲבֹשׁ אֶת-אֲתֹנוֹ” “And Balaam rose up in the morning, and saddled his ass (Female donkey)”.<\/p>\n

It is true that Balaam had control over matter but only at the level of Malchut<\/a>, which is physical only. Later in the story we read that his donkey stopped when she saw the angel of God on the path.<\/p>\n

Our soul was bounded with a physical body from birth. We need to grow out of it by controlling all desires of the body. When we share without personal agenda or expecting rewards, we are going out of ourselves. It is an aspect of controlling matter. When we connect spiritually and meditate for others, it’s another aspect of controlling matter or ‘riding’ the ‘Donkey’.<\/p>\n

It is the aspect of global unity because it’s free and not a part of a specific organization. There is no material gain from using it (not directly) and the light revealed is global. The Light of the Zohar that is revealed with a consciousness of global Unity is the aspect of the Yod of YHVH<\/a> that gives us full control over matter.<\/p>\n
