The ‘Elder of the elders’ came to the ‘Faithfull Shepherd’, who is Moses, to support the study of the blessing over the bread. Rabbi Ashlag explained that name ‘Elder of the Elders’ that the Zohar uses here is a code to the level of Chokmah<\/a>. The ‘Elder’ adds to the explanation and says that the Vav is the aspect of Jacob, Zeir Anpin<\/a>. His first unification was with Lea, that is the aspect of the upper H of the name. Then he connected to Rachel that is the aspect of Malchut<\/a> and the lower H of the name.
\nJacob as Zeir Anpin<\/a> connects the upper and lower realms, channeling blessings that are the aspect of the Y of the name. The Y represents the light of Chokmah<\/a> coming down to the world through the Sefirah of Yessod<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Proverb 10:6<\/a>
\n“ בְּרָכוֹת, לְרֹאשׁ צַדִּיק”
\n“Blessings are upon the head of the righteous”<\/p>\n

Yessod<\/a> is the aspect of righteous that makes the connection from Malchut<\/a> to Zeir Anpin<\/a>. When he connects upper and lower, the blessings come from above (the head).<\/p>\n

The sages defined the size of the piece of bread for the blessing as olive size and egg size. The Zohar explains that egg size is for the upper Y, meaning the Y of יהוה YHVH<\/a> and the smaller size is for the lower Y of ADNY אדני.
\nIt comes from the unification of the upper and lower name יאהדונהי through the Amen of the blessing.
\nOlive comes from a tree that grows on earth and brings fruit that produces oil, which is the aspect of Chokmah<\/a> revealed in Malchut<\/a>.
\nEgg comes from a live animal and it brings out life and that is why it represents a higher level. Egg is also used as a measurement unit for the Mikveh<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We don’t always understand the meaning of the ‘spiritual technologies’ we use and follow, but there is always a deep meaning to them. When we study the meaning of them like we do on the Daily Zohar, we reveal the light of that specific action. In this study we reveal the light that comes from the blessing of the bread.<\/p>\n
