One of the most important actions of the offering of the בִּכּוּרִים Bikurim is פדיון הבן, ‘Pidyon Haben’ ‘Redemption of the first born’. There is a special process in the presence of 10 men, the parents give money (5 silver coins) to a Kohen<\/a> (a man from the genetic line of the priests<\/a>) to redeem their child and connect him to Chokmah<\/a> and Binah<\/a>.
\nThe vessel accepts the light and reveals it, so the action of connection to Bikurim is a female aspect. The first born child for Pidyon HaBen is the first child that came out of a woman. If a woman had miscarriage then there is no such process. It is also not required when the grandfather is a Kohen<\/a> or a Levi. They are already connected to Chokmah<\/a> and Binah<\/a> and genetically connected to the higher levels. The Kohen<\/a> and a Levite were already selected by God to serve the Holy so they are not to be redeemed.<\/p>\n

When a man and a woman join to make a child, the man ‘יורה’ (=216+5) shoots out seeds from his penis, which is Yessod<\/a>. Yessod<\/a> is the ninth Sefirah counting from Keter<\/a>. The seeds are the aspect of the letter Yod, numerically 10 for the ten Sefirot.<\/p>\n

The child of man is called אדם, numerically 45 and in small number (4+5) = 9. It represents the 9 month of pregnancy and the child that comes out is the aspect of the tenth and a completion of the process.<\/p>\n

When the child is the first fruit of the woman he needs to be redeemed from the upper levels in order to follow his work in the world of Malchut<\/a>.<\/p>\n
