\n:וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל-מֹשֶׁה. קַח-לְךָ סַמִּים. נָטָף | וּשְׁחֵלֶת וְחֶלְבְּנָה. סַמִּים וּלְבֹנָה זַכָּה בַּד בְּבַד יִהְיֶה
\nAnd YHVH<\/a> said unto – Moses: “Take – to yourself spices; stacte [balm sap] and onycha and galbanum, [aromatic] spices with pure frankincense, [each one] must be of same weight.”<\/p>\n

30: 35 \/ לה
\n:וְעָשִׂיתָ  אֹתָהּ קְטֹרֶת. רֹקַח מַעֲשֵׂה רוֹקֵחַ. מְמֻלָּח טָהוֹר קֹדֶשׁ.
\n“And you will make of it incense, handling of the formula according to perfumer, salted with pure and holy salt.”<\/p>\n

30: 36 \/ לו
\nוְשָׁחַקְתָּ  מִמֶּנָּה הָדֵק וְנָתַתָּה מִמֶּנָּה לִפְנֵי הָעֵדֻת בְּאֹהֶל מוֹעֵד אֲשֶׁר אִוָּעֵד לְךָ שָׁמָּה קֹדֶשׁ קָדָשִׁים תִּהְיֶה לָכֶם:
\n“And you will grind some of it very finely, and you will put of it before the testimony in the Tent of Meeting, where I will be revealed to you there; it will be the Holy of Holies, to you.”<\/p>\n

The above text is from Exodus chapter 30. Shared by the portions of Tetzaveh and Ki Tissa. It is included in our prayers in a section that is called ‘the act of the Ketoret<\/a>’. It describes the instruction of God to Moses and Aaron on how to prepare a mix of incense to be brought and burnt on a golden altar in front of the Holy Tabernacle.
\nThe purpose of this process was to create a ‘firewall’ that blocks all negativities from entering the holy place.<\/p>\n

Rabbi Shimon said, if people knew the effect of the ‘Action of the Ketoret<\/a>’ before God, they would take every word of it and set it as golden crown on their heads.
\nThe power of the incense is to remove all negativity including death. Many kabbalists recommend reading this text every day, especially for those who are in weak health like cancer and other ills. When negativity is out of the way, it’s easy to draw light.
