4. רַבִּי יִצְחָק אָמַר, מִפְּנֵי מָה ב’ פְּתוּחָה וּסְתוּמָה? אֶלָּא בְּשָׁעָה שֶׁאָדָם בָּא לְהִתְחַבֵּר עִם הַתּוֹרָה, הֲרֵי הִיא פְּתוּחָה לְקַבֵּל אוֹתוֹ וּלְהִשְׁתַּתֵּף עִמּוֹ. וּבְשָׁעָה שֶׁאָדָם סוֹתֵם עֵינָיו מִמֶּנָּה וְהוֹלֵךְ לְדֶרֶךְ אַחֶרֶת, הֲרֵי הִיא סְתוּמָה מֵהַצַּד הָאַחֵר, כְּמוֹ שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר, אִם יוֹם תַּעַזְבֵנִי – יוֹמַיִם אֶעֶזְבֶךָּ. וְלֹא יִמְצָא פֶתַח עַד שֶׁיָּשׁוּב לְהִתְחַבֵּר עִם הַתּוֹרָה פָּנִים בְּפָנִים, וְלֹא יִשְׁכַּח מִמֶּנָּה. וְלָכֵן הַתּוֹרָה פּוֹתַחַת לִפְנֵי בְּנֵי אָדָם וּמַכְרִיזָה וְקוֹרֵאת לָהֶם, (משלי ח) אֲלֵיכֶם אִישִׁים אֶקְרָא וְגוֹ’, וְכָתוּב (שם א) בְּרֹאשׁ הֹמִיּוֹת תִּקְרָא בְּפִתְחֵי שְׁעָרִים בָּעִיר אֲמָרֶיהָ תֹאמֵר.
\n5. רַבִּי יְהוּדָה אָמַר, ב’ שְׁנֵי גַגּוֹת, וְאֶחָד שֶׁאוֹחֵז אוֹתָם. מַה זֶּה אוֹמֵר? אֶלָּא אֶחָד לַשָּׁמַיִם וְאֶחָד לָאָרֶץ, וְהַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא אוֹחֵז וּמְקַבֵּל אוֹתָם.
\n6. רַבִּי אֶלְעָזָר אָמַר, שְׁלֹשָׁה אוֹרוֹת (צְדָדִים אֵלּוּ) אֵלּוּ עֶלְיוֹנִים קְדוֹשִׁים שֶׁאֲחוּזִים כְּאֶחָד, וְהֵם הַכְּלָל שֶׁל הַתּוֹרָה, וְאֵלּוּ פּוֹתְחִים פֶּתַח לַכֹּל. פּוֹתְחִים פֶּתַח לָאֱמוּנָה, וְאֵלֶּה הַבַּיִת שֶׁל הַכֹּל, וְעַל זֶה נִקְרְאוּ בַיִת, שֶׁאֵלֶּה הֵם הַבַּיִת.<\/div>\n

Zohar Shemini<\/strong><\/p>\n

Shemini in Hebrew “The Eighth” is referred to the level of Binah<\/a>. Binah<\/a> is where the life force comes to the world, feed and sustain the entire Creation.
\nWe have the Eighth day of the holiday of Sukkoth, the eighth day of Pesach. After Pesach we count the Omer for seven weeks. On the first day of the eighth week we receive the gift of the Torah on Mount Sinai. A woman makes a Mitzvah of connecting to her husband on the eighth day after counting seven days of purity. The circumcision<\/a> of a new born child is made on the eighth day.
\nThose few examples tell us about the importance of the Eighth level and the connection to Binah<\/a>.
\nMoshe was serving in the Holy Tabernacle for seven days and on the eighth day (that was the first day of Nissan and the first day of the year) he was ordered to transfer the priesthood duties to Aaron.
\nOn that special day Nadav and Avihu<\/a> were serving in the process of bringing sacrifices to cleanse the nation.
\nThey saw the fire that came from G-d to burn the sacrifices ( Leviticus 9:24<\/a>)
\n“וַתֵּצֵא אֵשׁ, מִלִּפְנֵי יְהוָה, וַתֹּאכַל עַל-הַמִּזְבֵּחַ, אֶת-הָעֹלָה וְאֶת-הַחֲלָבִים”
\n“And fire came out from before YHVH<\/a> and consumed the burnt offering and the pieces of fat on the altar,”<\/p>\n

That process revealed a channel to Binah<\/a> and the nation saw it and fell to the ground with joy and singing. (Leviticus 9:24<\/a>) “; וַיַּרְא כָּל-הָעָם וַיָּרֹנּוּ, וַיִּפְּלוּ עַל-פְּנֵיהֶם”.
\n“and when all the people saw it, they shouted and fell on their faces.”<\/p>\n

Nadav and Avihu<\/a> “נָדָב וַאֲבִיהוּא” were one soul. Their name sums to the value of 91 ((Nadav=56)+ (Avihu=24)+(letters=9) + (2 for the words), which according to Kabbalah, tells a lot about their energy. 91 is the value of Amen “אמן ” and the combination of the upper and lower name יאהדונהי . This is the unification made when we answer Amen to a blessing.
\nThe word for Angel “מלאך” is also 91. All that Nadav and Avihu<\/a> wanted was to serve and draw the light to the world. When they saw the great revelation of Light (verse 9:24<\/a>) they didn’t hesitate to act on it. They were ready to scarify themselves for the benefit of all. In the next verse that also starts a new chapter (10:1). We are actually benefiting from their selfless action until Mashiach comes (B”H Today, Amen).<\/p>\n
