\n11. פָּתַח רַבִּי פִּנְחָס וְאָמַר, (תהלים קכח) יְבָרֶכְךָ ה’ מִצִּיּוֹן וּרְאֵה בְּטוּב וְגוֹ’. יְבָרֶכְךָ ה’ מִצִּיּוֹן, מָה הַטַּעַם מִצִּיּוֹן? מִשּׁוּם שֶׁהֲרֵי מִשָּׁם יוֹצְאוֹת בְּרָכוֹת לְהִשְׁתַּתֵּף (לְהִמָּצֵא). זֶהוּ שֶׁכָּתוּב, כִּי שָׁם צִוָּה ה’ אֶת הַבְּרָכָה חַיִּים עַד הָעוֹלָם. וּמִשּׁוּם כָּךְ, יְבָרֶכְךָ ה’ מִצִּיּוֹן, שֶׁהֲרֵי מִשָּׁם יוֹצְאוֹת בְּרָכוֹת לַכֹּל. וּרְאֵה בְּטוּב יְרוּשָׁלִָם, שֶׁבִּגְלַל צִיּוֹן יְרוּשָׁלַיִם מִתְבָּרֶכֶת. שֶׁכֵּיוָן שֶׁצִּיּוֹן הִתְמַלֵּא בִּבְרָכוֹת, אָז יְרוּשָׁלַיִם מִתְבָּרֶכֶת, וְנִמְצָאִים בָּהּ רַחֲמִים. וּכְשֶׁיְּרוּשָׁלַיִם מִתְבָּרֶכֶת, כָּל הָעָם מִתְבָּרֵךְ.
\n12. כֹּל יְמֵי חַיֶּיךָ, שֶׁלֹּא תֵרָאֶה קֶשֶׁת בְּיָמֶיךָ כְּמוֹ לְאָבִיךָ. וְעַל זֶה – וּרְאֵה בְּטוּב יְרוּשָׁלִָם כֹּל יְמֵי חַיֶּיךָ. וּרְאֵה בָנִים לְבָנֶיךָ, יִרְאֵי חֵטְא, חֲסִידִים, קְדוֹשִׁים. אָז – שָׁלוֹם עַל יִשְׂרָאֵל. מַה זֶּה שָׁלוֹם עַל יִשְׂרָאֵל? אֶלָּא כְּמִי שֶׁאוֹמֵר: שָׁלוֹם עַל רֹאשׁ הַמֶּלֶךְ, שֶׁלֹּא יֶחְסַר כֹּל. כָּךְ שָׁלוֹם עַל יִשְׂרָאֵל, בִּזְמַן שֶׁצַּדִּיקִים יִמָּצְאוּ בָעוֹלָם.<\/div>\n

Zohar Shemini<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yessod<\/a> is the Sefirah that makes the connection to the upper world and allows the flow of light to Malchut<\/a>. The literal meaning of Yessod<\/a> is ‘foundation’. Without the foundation, there is no existence for the building.<\/p>\n

We usually look at the Tree of Life<\/a> from top to bottom, Keter<\/a> to Malchut<\/a>. It looks like Malchut<\/a> is the base\/foundation but the opposite is true. Keter<\/a> is the root and the concealed source of everything in existence. Chokmah<\/a> and Binah<\/a> receive the life force from Keter<\/a> and continue on the way to the ‘surface’, which is the revealed aspect of Malchut<\/a>. Yessod<\/a> is the deliverer of light to Malchut<\/a>, which cannot exist without the Light, and therefore Yessod<\/a> is the foundation of Malchut<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Tzadik (a righteous person) is called ‘Yessod<\/a> Olam (world)’ because his work of bringing Light to the world strengthens its foundation.
\nThe Holy Tabernacle provided access to the Light and with the process of sacrifices, Yessod<\/a> was activated to draw the light to Malchut<\/a>. Nadav and Avihu<\/a> wanted to make one and final correction of Yessod<\/a> creating a continuous flow of light to the world.<\/p>\n

The word Tikkun תיקון has the root תקן which means ‘installation’. A Tikkun installs\/fixes\/makes the permanent installation of the light where it should be.<\/p>\n

The negativity of Zimri and Kozbi (a portion of Balak) was created when Zimri of the Children of Israel<\/a> and the right side of the Tree of Life<\/a> engaged himself in a sexual act with the other side<\/a> that was represented by Kozbi, the daughter of one of the heads of the Midianites. The man’s penis is the aspect of Yessod<\/a> (brings life to the world) and the woman’s womb is the vessel. Balak knew the spiritual system and since his plot with Balaam didn’t work, he sent the women to draw the energy of the Israelites<\/a> from their Yessod<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Pinchas killed them and made a correction to the broken Yessod<\/a>. That affinity with the action of Nadav and Avihu<\/a> merited him immortality.<\/p>\n

The Zohar of this portion quotes Psalms 128:5<\/a> (Please read this 6 verse long chapter. http:\/\/www.mechon-mamre.org\/p\/pt\/pt26c8.htm)
\n“יְבָרֶכְךָ יְהוָה, מִצִּיּוֹן: וּרְאֵה, בְּטוּב יְרוּשָׁלִָם–כֹּל, יְמֵי חַיֶּיךָ”
\n“YHVH<\/a> blesses you from Zion<\/a>, And may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem<\/a> all the days of your life.”
\nZion<\/a> is a spiritual place that represents the Yessod<\/a> of Malchut<\/a>. The blessings come from Zion<\/a>, which is Yessod<\/a>. Its spiritual point of connection to the world is above the city of Jerusalem<\/a> in the Holy Land. That is why the Holy Temple was built there. The third and final Holy Temple will be revealed on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem<\/a> with an uninterrupted flow of light to the world.<\/p>\n

Kind David, the author of Psalms in this 6 verse long chapter reveals the great benefits of following the ways of YHVH<\/a>. Everything we do should reflect the work of connecting the six Sefirot of Chessed<\/a> to Yessod<\/a> with Malchut<\/a>. Only then, we can enjoy the benefits of long life and the final piece.<\/p>\n

\n“וּרְאֵה-בָנִים לְבָנֶיךָ: שָׁלוֹם, עַל-יִשְׂרָאֵל”
\n“and you’ll see your children’s children. Peace upon Israel<\/a>!”<\/p>\n
