11. וְיֵשׁ שֶׁשּׁוֹנִים (אֶת זֶה הָפוּךְ), הַבְּכֹר נָדָב – זֶה לְבַדּוֹ, וַאֲבִיהוּא – לְבַדּוֹ, וְכָל אֶחָד נֶחְשָׁב בְּעֵינָיו כִּשְׁנֵיהֶם, כְּמוֹ אֶלְעָזָר וְאִיתָמָר. אֲבָל נָדָב וַאֲבִיהוּא לְבַדָּם שְׁקוּלִים הָיוּ כְּנֶגֶד שִׁבְעִים סַנְהֶדְרִין, שֶׁהָיוּ מְשַׁמְּשִׁים לִפְנֵי מֹשֶׁה. וּמִשּׁוּם כָּךְ מִיתָתָם מְכַפֶּרֶת עַל יִשְׂרָאֵל. וְעַל זֶה כָּתוּב, (ויקרא י) וַאֲחֵיכֶם כָּל בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל יִבְכּוּ אֶת הַשְּׂרֵפָה. וְאָמַר רַבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן, הַבְּכֹר נָדָב – כְּלוֹמַר, אוֹתוֹ שֶׁכָּל הַשֶּׁבַח וְהַכָּבוֹד שֶׁלּוֹ (מַה שְּׁמוֹ). נָדָב וַאֲבִיהוּא, עַל אַחַת כַּמָּה וְכַמָּה, שֶׁשְּׁנֵי אֵלֶּה לֹא נִמְצְאוּ כְמוֹתָם בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל.
