1. אִם בְּחֻקֹּתַי תֵּלֵכוּ וְגוֹ’. רַבִּי חִיָּיא פָּתַח, (מיכה ו) עַמִּי זְכָר נָא מַה יָּעַץ בָּלָק מֶלֶךְ מוֹאָב וּמֶה עָנָה אֹתוֹ בִּלְעָם בֶּן בְּעוֹר וְגוֹ’. עַמִּי זְכָר נָא, אַשְׁרֵי חֶלְקוֹ שֶׁל הָעָם הַזֶּה שֶׁרִבּוֹנָם מוֹכִיחַ אוֹתָם כָּךְ. עַמִּי זְכָר נָא, אַף עַל גַּב שֶׁאַתֶּם סוֹטִים מִדַּרְכִּי – עַמִּי אַתֶּם, שֶׁאֵינִי רוֹצֶה לַעֲשׂוֹת לָכֶם כְּמַעֲשֵׂיכֶם.
\n2. רַבִּי יִצְחָק אָמַר, אַשְׁרֵי חֶלְקוֹ שֶׁל הָעָם שֶׁרִבּוֹנָם אוֹמֵר לָהֶם: עַמִּי מֶה עָשִׂיתִי לָךְ וּמָה הֶלְאֵתִיךָ עֲנֵה בִּי. מַה יָּעַץ בָּלָק מֶלֶךְ מוֹאָב. בְּכַמָּה דְבָרִים וּמַעֲשִׂים אָמַר לְהַשְׁמִיד אֶתְכֶם מֵהָעוֹלָם, וְכַמָּה כְשָׁפִים עוֹרֵר כְּנֶגְדְּכֶם.
\n3. אָמַר רַבִּי יוֹסֵי, אָמַר לָהֶם הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא לְיִשְׂרָאֵל: זְכָר נָא. אוֹי שֶׁאָנוּ צוֹוְחִים בְּכָל יוֹם, וְגוֹעִים וּבוֹכִים, (איכה ה) זְכֹר ה’ מֶה הָיָה לָנוּ, (תהלים קלז) זְכֹר ה’ לִבְנֵי אֱדוֹם, וְלֹא רוֹצֶה לְהַשְׁגִּיחַ עָלֵינוּ, הוּא אָמַר לָנוּ: בְּבַקָּשָׁה זְכָר נָא. אֵין נָא אֶלָּא לְשׁוֹן בַּקָּשָׁה, וְאָנוּ לֹא הִשְׁגַּחְנוּ בּוֹ. כְּמוֹ כֵן אָנוּ צוֹוְחִים: זְכֹר ה’ מֶה הָיָה לָנוּ, זְכֹר ה’ לִבְנֵי אֱדֹם, (שם עד) זְכֹר עֲדָתְךָ קָנִיתָ קֶּדֶם, (שם קו) זָכְרֵנִי ה’ בִּרְצוֹן עַמֶּךָ, וְלֹא רוֹצֶה לְהַשְׁגִּיחַ עָלֵינוּ.<\/div>\n

Zohar Bechukotai<\/strong><\/p>\n

“אִם-בְּחֻקֹּתַי, תֵּלֵכוּ; וְאֶת-מִצְוֹfתַי תִּשְׁמְרוּ, וַעֲשִׂיתֶם אֹתָם. ד וְנָתַתִּי גִשְׁמֵיכֶם, בְּעִתָּם; וְנָתְנָה הָאָרֶץ יְבוּלָהּ, וְעֵץ הַשָּׂדֶה יִתֵּן פִּרְיוֹ.”
\nThe last parasha of the book of Leviticus starts with a condition (26:3) “3. If you walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them; 4 then I will give you rains in their season, and the land shall yield her produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.”
\nTo understand what it means when the Torah uses the terms, ‘laws’, ’statues’, ’commandments’, “בְּחֻקֹּתַי” , “חוקים” ,”משפטים” I will take you to the beginning of Sefer Yetzirah (attributed to Abraham the Patriarch).<\/p>\n

The first paragraph reads “בשלשים ושתים נתיבות פליאות חכמה חקק יה יהוק צבאות את עולמו בשלשה ספרים ספר וספר וסיפור” and it translates to “In two and thirty most occult and wonderful paths of wisdom did JAH the Lord of Hosts engrave his name: God of the armies of Israel<\/a>. He created this universe by the three Sepharim (books), Number, Writing, and Speech.” The simple translation of “חקק” by the context is “engrave”. The Hebrew words read as “Law”. The 32 paths are the basis for all the laws of the universe. As you know the Torah begins with the letter Bet “ב” and ends with the letter lamed “ל” and together gives the value of 32.<\/p>\n

God created for us a system of cause and effect “סיבה- ומסובב”. All is coded with the numbers “מיספרים”.
\nTo make physical from spiritual, you need to create definition and limitations. Take for example, a thought that goes through your mind and if you want to express it you tell it or write it. Doing so puts limitation or puts border to the thought, it is transferred on the physical level with limits. It no longer has the freedom that was while in your mind. A book “ספר” is a limited version of thoughts.<\/p>\n

The last verse of the parasha and of the book of VaYikra is “אֵלֶּה הַמִּצְוֹ”ת, אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה אֶת-מֹשֶׁה–אֶל-בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל: בְּהַר, סִינָי.” “These are the commandments, which YHVH<\/a> commanded Moses for the children of Israel<\/a> in Mount Sinai.”
\nWe always read this parasha before the holiday of Shavuot, when we receive the gift of the Bible. Understanding the deeper meaning of the Laws of cause and effect described in the Torah help us connect to the Light of the Creator in a pure way. Every little ‘digging’ for meaning reveals Light and the more we do the greater the light we reveal to benefit ourselves and the world around us.
\nWithout the Zohar it is hard to dig light from the Torah.<\/p>\n
