4. רַבִּי יְהוּדָה אָמַר, וַדַּאי שֶׁהַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא מַשְׁגִּיחַ עָלֵינוּ תָּמִיד וְזוֹכֵר אוֹתָנוּ, שֶׁאִם הוּא לֹא יַשְׁגִּיחַ עַל יִשְׂרָאֵל וְזוֹכֵר אוֹתָם, לֹא יַעַמְדוּ יוֹם אֶחָד בַּגָּלוּת. זֶהוּ שֶׁכָּתוּב (ויקרא כו) וְאַף גַּם זֹאת בִּהְיוֹתָם בְּאֶרֶץ אוֹיְבֵיהֶם וְגוֹ’. הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא אֵינוֹ עוֹשֶׂה לָנוּ כְמַעֲשֵׂינוּ.
\n5. בֹּא רְאֵה, בָּלָק חָכָם הָיָה, וּגְדוֹל הַמְּכַשְּׁפִים בְּמַעֲשֵׂי יָדָיו יוֹתֵר מִבִּלְעָם. וְכָךְ לָמַדְנוּ, כָּל מַה שֶּׁרוֹצֶה בֶּן אָדָם בָּעוֹלָם הַזֶּה בַּעֲבוֹדַת הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא, צָרִיךְ לְעוֹרֵר בַּמַּעֲשֶׂה לְמַטָּה. שֶׁבַּמַּעֲשֶׂה שֶׁלְּמַטָּה מִתְעוֹרֵר מַעֲשֶׂה לְמַעְלָה, וְהַמַּעֲשֶׂה הַזֶּה צָרִיךְ בִּקְדֻשָּׁה, וַהֲרֵי פֵּרְשׁוּהָ. וּבְמָקוֹם שֶׁאֵין מַעֲשֶׂה, יֵשׁ דִּבּוּר. וּבְדִבּוּר הַפֶּה תָּלוּי הַמַּעֲשֶׂה, לְעוֹרֵר לְמַעְלָה. כְּמוֹ שֶׁצְּרִיכִים לְעוֹרֵר קְדֻשָּׁה עֶלְיוֹנָה בְּמַעֲשֶׂה וּבְדִבּוּר, כָּךְ גַּם אוֹתָם שֶׁבָּאִים מִצַּד הַטֻּמְאָה צְרִיכִים לְעוֹרֵר אֶת הַצַּד שֶׁלָּהֶם בְּמַעֲשֶׂה וּבְדִבּוּר הַפֶּה.
\n6. וְאַף עַל גַּב שֶׁבִּלְעָם הָיָה הַגָּדוֹל מִכָּל מְכַשְּׁפֵי הָעוֹלָם – מְכַשֵּׁף עֶלְיוֹן מִמֶּנּוּ הָיָה בָּלָק. בְּקֶסֶם הָיָה בָּלָק גָּדוֹל מִכָּל הַחֲכָמִים, וּבִלְעָם בְּנַחַשׁ (וַהֲרֵי פֵּרְשׁוּהָ). קֶסֶם וְנַחַשׁ שְׁתֵּי דְרָגוֹת הֵן. קֶסֶם תָּלוּי בְּמַעֲשֶׂה, נַחַשׁ לֹא תָלוּי בְּמַעֲשֶׂה, אֶלָּא בְּהִסְתַּכְּלוּת וּבְדִבּוּר הַפֶּה, וְאָז מְעוֹרְרִים עָלָיו רוּחַ טֻמְאָה לְהִתְלַבֵּשׁ בָּהֶם, וְעוֹשֶׂה מַה שֶּׁעוֹשֶׂה.<\/div>\n

Zohar Bechukotai<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Zohar tells us that Balak was very wise man and great sorcerer. He could do with his hands magic greater than what Balaam could do. Why did Balak seek Balaam’s support against the Israelites<\/a>. The Zohar explains that actions on the lower level of Malchut<\/a> cause a reaction in the spiritual levels and if we want to awaken the Light above we need to also use words. Similarly the impure system needs actions and words to draw impure and negative energy.<\/p>\n

Balaam had the ability to draw negative energy with his words and project it through his eyes, something that Balak didn’t have and he needed it against the Israelites<\/a>.
\nThe connection of this Zohar teaching to the portion of Bechukotai is about following the laws and words of the Torah in order to draw pure energy. The words of the Torah that we study through the Zohar reveal the concealed Light that we need in our lives. Reading\/scanning\/listening and studying the Zohar give us the most of it.<\/p>\n
