It is the day Rabbi Shimon ascended to heaven. The opening he created between heaven and earth is an opportunity for us to make a great spiritual connection to the awesome Light he left behind in the sacred words of the Zohar.<\/p>\n<p>The word &lsquo;Lag&rsquo; has the two letters &#1500;&#1490;, numerically 33 and they represent the&nbsp;day number in the counting of the Omer. When we switch the letters we get &lsquo;&#1490;&#1500;&rsquo; which is the root word that means &nbsp;&lsquo;reveal&rsquo;, &lsquo;open&rsquo;, &lsquo;uncover&rsquo;.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/staging.dailyzohar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/RabiShimonentrance.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-14016 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.dailyzohar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/RabiShimonentrance-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"RabiShimonentrance\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\"\/><\/a>The Holy Ari prepared for us a special meditation to read before studying the Zohar. In it he quotes King David<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sefaria.org\/%20Psalms.119.18?lang=bi&amp;with=all&amp;lang2=en\" target=\"_blank\"> Psalms 119:18<\/a> &ldquo;&#1490;&#1463;&#1468;&#1500;-&#1506;&#1461;&#1497;&#1504;&#1463;&#1497; &#1493;&#1456;&#1488;&#1463;&#1489;&#1460;&#1468;&#1497;&#1496;&#1464;&#1492;&ndash; &nbsp;&nbsp; &#1504;&#1460;&#1508;&#1456;&#1500;&#1464;&#1488;&#1493;&#1465;&#1514;, &#1502;&#1460;&#1514;&#1468;&#1493;&#1465;&#1512;&#1464;&#1514;&#1462;&#1498;&#1464;&rdquo; &ldquo;Open my eyes so that I will observe amazing things from your law (Torah)&rdquo;.<\/p>\n<p>With every study of the Zohar we reveal more of the amazing secrets of the spiritual system of <a class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;YHVH&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;The Holy Name&lt;\/div&gt;\"  href=\"https:\/\/staging.dailyzohar.com\/?glossary=yhvh\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex='0' role='link'>YHVH<\/a> that is concealed in the Torah.<\/p>\n<p>The 33rd day of the Omer is at the level of <a class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;Hod&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;&lt;\/div&gt;\"  href=\"https:\/\/staging.dailyzohar.com\/?glossary=hod\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex='0' role='link'>Hod<\/a> of <a class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;Hod&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;&lt;\/div&gt;\"  href=\"https:\/\/staging.dailyzohar.com\/?glossary=hod\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex='0' role='link'>Hod<\/a>, which represents a complete vessel. The five Sefirot of <a class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;Chessed&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;The sefira of Chessed &#1495;&#1505;&#1491;. represents the Right column of the Tree of Life.&#1495;&#1505;&#1491; = 72&lt;\/div&gt;\" href=\"https:\/\/staging.dailyzohar.com\/?glossary=chessed\" data-gt-translate-attributes=\"[{&quot;attribute&quot;:&quot;data-cmtooltip&quot;, &quot;format&quot;:&quot;html&quot;}]\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">Chessed<\/a> to <a class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;Hod&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;&lt;\/div&gt;\"  href=\"https:\/\/staging.dailyzohar.com\/?glossary=hod\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]' tabindex='0' role='link'>Hod<\/a> construct the vessel. <a class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;Yessod&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;Yessod is the sefira that delivers light, and nourishments that sustain life in the world. Joseph is the chariot (vehicle) for the sefira of Yessod. He controlled the sustenance of Egypt and the world, and he is a channel of sustenance.We connect to Yessod through studies, Tzedaka, and Tzadikim.Friday is Yessod of the week. Kislev is Yessod of the months.&lt;\/div&gt;\" href=\"https:\/\/staging.dailyzohar.com\/?glossary=yessod\" data-gt-translate-attributes=\"[{&quot;attribute&quot;:&quot;data-cmtooltip&quot;, &quot;format&quot;:&quot;html&quot;}]\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">Yessod<\/a> is the connector\/funnel for the Light to be transferred from the vessel to <a class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;Malchut&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;&amp;lt;span style=&amp;quot;color: #0000ff;&amp;quot;&amp;gt;&#1502;&#1500;&#1499;&#1493;&#1514;&amp;lt;\/span&amp;gt;Malchut is the lowest sefira of the ten sefirot. There is a level of Malchut in all worlds (Atzilut, B&amp;#039;riah, Yetzirah, and Asiyah). In the Daily Zohar studies, the mention of Malchut could be on the upper levels, not necessarily Malchut of the world of Asiyah that is the material world. In general, Malchut doesn&amp;#039;t have a light of its own but can draw from all the levels above it. Malchut can receive the Light in a pure process of &amp;#039;earning.&amp;#039;Malchut is an aspect of the female with a desire for the Light.The image of the sefirot below represents the lowest level of the world of Asiyah, Action, where there is an aspect of physicality, material existence.Malchut of the upper worlds manifests the levels below it. Therefore Malchut is also the Keter of the level below it. &lt;\/div&gt;\" href=\"https:\/\/staging.dailyzohar.com\/?glossary=malchut\" data-gt-translate-attributes=\"[{&quot;attribute&quot;:&quot;data-cmtooltip&quot;, &quot;format&quot;:&quot;html&quot;}]\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">Malchut<\/a>. &nbsp;Rabbi Shimon opened a bridge between heaven and earth on that day giving us a great revelation of Light. This day is considered a representation of the holiday of Shavuot.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/staging.dailyzohar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/RabiShimonplace.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-14018 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.dailyzohar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/RabiShimonplace-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"RabiShimonplace\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\"\/><\/a>Rabbi Shimon was born on Shavout when the Torah was revealed on Mount Sinai. We know that on the day a righteous person leaves the world all his life&rsquo;s work is revealed. Instead of leaving the world on his birth date like all righteous people, Rabbi Shimon decided to create for us another Holy day, a day that his work of the Zohar is revealed to the entire world.<\/p>\n<p>His last teaching on the spiritual system was written in the Idra Zuta and that is the Zohar part that we need to study on this day of Lag B&rsquo;Omer.<\/p>\n<p>Rabbi Shimon was called in the Zohar &lsquo;The <a class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;Holy Candle&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;Rabbi Shimon in the Zohar is called by his students and friend &amp;quot;Holy Candle&amp;quot;, in Aramaic &amp;quot;&#1489;&#1493;&#1510;&#1497;&#1504;&#1488; &#1511;&#1491;&#1497;&#1513;&#1488;&amp;quot;. Because Rabbi Shimon was emitting Light with every word he said, he was called the Holy Candle or Holy Luminary.&lt;\/div&gt;\" href=\"https:\/\/staging.dailyzohar.com\/?glossary=holy-candle\" data-gt-translate-attributes=\"[{&quot;attribute&quot;:&quot;data-cmtooltip&quot;, &quot;format&quot;:&quot;html&quot;}]\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">Holy Candle<\/a>&rsquo; and we light a candle to connect to his soul.
