The above Zohar section is from Tikunei Zohar #4 and together with the next DZ it reveals secrets of the 42 letters.<\/em><\/p>\n

תִּקּוּן רְבִיעִי – בְּרֵאשִׁית, כָּתוּב פִּתְחוּ לִי שַׁעֲרֵי צֶדֶק אָבא בָם אוֹדֶה יָ”הּ. פִּתְחוּ לִי – אֵלּוּ שְׁנֵי עַפְעַפֵּי הָעַיִן שֶׁהֵם פּוֹתְחִים וְסוֹגְרִים, וַעֲלֵיהֶם נֶאֱמַר וְהָיוּ הַכְּרוּבִים פֹּרְשֵׂי כְנָפַיִם לְמַעְלָה. הַכְּרוּבִים, אֵלּוּ שְׁנֵי כְרוּבֵי הָעַיִן, פֹּרְשֵׂי כְנָפַיִם – עַפְעַפֵּי הָעַיִן. וְעוֹד, פִּתְחוּ לִי שַׁעֲרֵי צֶדֶק, אֵלּוּ הֵם שְׁתֵּי הָעֵינַיִם. בִּזְמַן שֶׁהֵן מִסְתַּכְּלוֹת בְּדֶרֶךְ יְשָׁרָה, נֶאֱמַר בָּהֶם וּפְנֵיהֶם אִישׁ אֶל אָחִיו, וּבִזְמַן שֶׁאֵינָם מִסְתַּכְּלִים בְּדֶרֶךְ יְשָׁרָה, הֲרֵי נָחָשׁ עֲקַלָּתוֹן שָׁם, עָלָיו נֶאֱמַר כִּי הַמָּוֶת יַפְרִיד וְגוֹמֵר.

Kabbalists bring another aspect to the 42 letters. God created the world with three hands. Hand in Hebrew ‘יד’, is numerically 14, 3×14 is equal 42. The world was Created with the governance of seven days. It brings the aspect of 21 that is the numerical value of the name of Keter<\/a> אהיה<\/a>. The word God appears 32 times during the process of Creation. They are the seeds for the 32 paths of wisdom that is the Light channeled through Binah<\/a> to the world. The Light that is manifest in Malchut<\/a> goes through 10 Sefirot. The 10 Sefirot and the 32 paths reveal the force of the 42 letters.<\/p>\n

The Torah scroll has 32 special letters. 16 of them appear from the beginning to the large Vav in the middle of the Torah (Leviticus 11:42<\/a>! Portion of Shemini), and 16 more in the other half. Together 32 plus the 10 Sefirot we have 42. Each column in the Torah scroll is written on 42 lines.<\/p>\n

The name of 42 is the aspect of the written Torah<\/a>, which is channeling the energy. The 72 names is the aspect of the oral Torah<\/a> and revelation in Malchut<\/a>. I always recommend to start meditating (after purification of body and consciousness) with the Ana B’Koach then additional prayers and meditation and closing with scanning (not reading) of the entire 72 names chart.<\/p>\n

Special note:
\nIn the images of the pages from the book of Rabbi Nehunya ben Hakana we found a printing error (Thanks to Yael). In one part the sequence of קרע was dropped from the print. I checked an edition of old print and it was okay there.<\/p>\n

It’s important to know that in modern prints of old texts we frequently find errors. We should be careful in using special names from prints because we never know how accurate they are.<\/p>\n
