1. וַיִּשְׁלַח יַעֲקֹב מַלְאָכִים וגו’. רַבִּי יְהוּדָה פָּתַח, (תהלים צא) כִּי מַלְאָכָיו יְצַוֶּה לָּךְ לִשְׁמָרְךָ בְּכָל דְּרָכֶיךָ. פָּסוּק זֶה בֵּאֲרוּהוּ הַחֲבֵרִים, שֶׁהֲרֵי בְּשָׁעָה שֶׁאָדָם בָּא לָעוֹלָם, מִיָּד מִזְדַּמֵּן עִמּוֹ יֵצֶר הָרָע שֶׁהוּא מְקַטְרֵג לָאָדָם תָּמִיד, כְּמוֹ שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר (בראשית ד) לַפֶּתַח חַטָּאת רֹבֵץ. מִי זֶה חַטָּאת רֹבֵץ? זֶה יֵצֶר הָרָע.
\n2. וְכָךְ גַּם דָּוִד קָרָא לוֹ חַטָּאת, (תהלים נא) וְחַטָּאתִי נֶגְדִּי תָמִיד, מִשּׁוּם שֶׁהוּא עוֹשֶׂה כָּל יוֹם לָאָדָם לַחֲטֹא לִפְנֵי רִבּוֹנוֹ, וְיֵצֶר הָרָע הַזֶּה לֹא זָז מִבֶּן הָאָדָם מִיּוֹם שֶׁנּוֹלָד הָאָדָם לְעוֹלָמִים, וְיֵצֶר הַטּוֹב בָּא לָאָדָם מִיּוֹם שֶׁבָּא לְהִטָּהֵר.
\n3. וּמָתַי בָּא אָדָם לְהִטָּהֵר? כְּשֶׁהוּא בֶּן שְׁלֹשׁ עֶשְׂרֵה שָׁנִים, אָז מִזְדַּוֵּג הָאָדָם בִּשְׁנֵיהֶם, אֶחָד מִיָּמִין וְאֶחָד מִשְּׂמֹאל. יֵצֶר טוֹב לְיָמִין, וְיֵצֶר הָרָע לִשְׂמֹאל. וְאֵלֶּה הֵם שְׁנֵי מַלְאָכִים מַמָּשׁ מְמֻנִּים, וְהֵם נִמְצָאִים תָּמִיד עִם הָאָדָם.
\n4. בָּא בֶּן אָדָם לְהִטַּהֵר – אוֹתוֹ יֵצֶר הָרָע נִכְפֶּה לְפָנָיו, וְשׁוֹלֵט הַיָּמִין עַל הַשְּׂמֹאל. וּשְׁנֵיהֶם מִזְדַּוְּגִים לִשְׁמֹר אֶת הָאָדָם בְּכָל דְּרָכָיו שֶׁהוּא עוֹשֶׂה. זֶהוּ שֶׁכָּתוּב כִּי מַלְאָכָיו יְצַוֶּה לָּךְ לִשְׁמָרְךָ בְּכָל דְּרָכֶיךָ.<\/div>\n

Zohar Vayishlach <\/strong><\/p>\n

Genesis 4:7<\/a>
\n“הֲלוֹא אִם-תֵּיטִיב, שְׂאֵת, וְאִם לֹא תֵיטִיב, לַפֶּתַח חַטָּאת רֹבֵץ; וְאֵלֶיךָ, תְּשׁוּקָתוֹ, וְאַתָּה, תִּמְשָׁל-בּוֹ”
\n“If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is for you, but you must rule over it.”<\/p>\n

The Zohar teaches us that the negative side and evil inclination awaits at the opening on the womb and immediately attach themselves to the newborn. The good and pure side comes when the child grows to age 13. At this age, the soul is matured and able to make spiritual connection and draw light.<\/p>\n

The negative side doesn’t leave the person but now he has the tools to control it.<\/p>\n

The womb is a pure place and it is protected by the Light. The nine months are the aspect of the nine sefirot of Light from Keter<\/a> to Yessod<\/a>. When the baby comes out, he connects to the level of Malchut<\/a> where the negative side has freedom to ‘bother’ us, giving us opportunities to overcome challenges and earn the Light.<\/p>\n

The Zohar tells us that the pure support side is on the right and the negative and impure is on the left, and always with us. The Zohar also reveals to us that the negative side will always give up when we choose the pure side\/action.<\/p>\n

Psalms 91:11<\/a>
\n“כִּי מַלְאָכָיו, יְצַוֶּה-לָּךְ; לִשְׁמָרְךָ, בְּכָל-דְּרָכֶיךָ.”
\n“For he will command his angels; to guard you in all your ways.”<\/p>\n

The angels in this verse are those of the right and left that are always with us.<\/p>\n

They protect us when we choose the right and pure path. The first part of the verse is the appointing of the angels to be with us. The second part is the protection that we receive when we follow the right way.<\/p>\n
