1. וַיְחִי יַעֲקֹב בְּאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם שְׁבַע עֶשְׂרֵה שָׁנָה וְגוֹ’. אָמַר רַבִּי יוֹסֵי, הַלֵּב רוֹאֶה בַּנְּבוּאָה, בְּמִצְרַיִם, שֶׁיִּהְיוּ בָנָיו בְּכַמָּה גָלֻיּוֹת, עַד כָּאן, וְעַד עִדָּן שֶׁל קֵץ הַמָּשִׁיחַ.

Zohar Vayechi<\/strong><\/p>\n

Genesis 47:28<\/a>
\n“וַיְחִי יַעֲקֹב בְּאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם, שְׁבַע עֶשְׂרֵה שָׁנָה”
\n“And Jacob lived in the land of Egypt seventeen years. ”<\/p>\n

The Zohar explains that Jacob received the highest level of prophecy when he arrived to Egypt and saw Joseph<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jacob (Tiferet<\/a>) and Moses (Da’at) reached a high level of prophecy like no other prophets. The other prophets received their prophecies from the level of Netzach<\/a> and Hod<\/a> of Zeir Anpin<\/a> “אַסְפַּקְלַרְיָה הַמְּאִירָה” “Illuminated mirror” This level is where the female aspect of the light, the Shechina, is reflected as mirror to the lower level of Malchut<\/a>. Malchut<\/a> is called “אספקלריא שאינה מאירה”, a mirror without illumination.<\/p>\n

Jacob and Moses received from the higher level of Tiferet<\/a> that is called a mirror with light.<\/p>\n

Jacob as Tiferet<\/a> lost his connection to the Shechina and lower level when he lost Joseph<\/a>, who is Yessod<\/a>. With the renewed connection Jacob’s connection to the Shechina re-established and he could prophecize and continue blessings to his children.<\/p>\n

Lesson: The level of Yessod<\/a> is called ‘חי’ ‘live’ and when we connect to it we bring light that is the energy of life from above and able to see beyond the ‘darkness’ of Malchut<\/a>. With every spiritual connection, Zohar study and proper meditation, we develop greater ability to see the ‘light’ and its ‘reflections’ in the world.<\/p>\n
