27. וּפַרְעֹה וְכָל אוֹתָם הָאוּכְלוּסִים שֶׁלּוֹ הָיוּ הוֹלְכִים אַחֲרֵיהֶם לְלַוּוֹת אוֹתָם עַד שֶׁיָּצְאוּ מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם, וְכָל כָּל אוֹתָם גְּדוֹלִים שָׂרִים הַמְמֻנִּים עֲלֵיהֶם וְעַל שְׁאָר הָעַמִּים, לִוּוּ אֶת הַשְּׁכִינָה וְאֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל כֻּלָּם, עַד שֶׁחָנוּ בְּאֵיתָם בִּקְצֵה הַמִּדְבָּר. זֶהוּ שֶׁכָּתוּב וַיְהִי בְּשַׁלַּח פַּרְעֹה אֶת הָעָם וְגוֹ’, כִּי קָרוֹב הוּא. כִּי קָרוֹב הוּא, אוֹתָהּ שְׁבוּעָה שֶׁנִּשְׁבַּע אֲבִימֶלֶךְ לָאָבוֹת עַל אוֹתוֹ טוֹב שֶׁעָשׂוּ הַפְּלִשְׁתִּים לָאָבוֹת, שֶׁכָּתוּב (בראשית כא) כַּחֶסֶד אֲשֶׁר עָשִׂיתִי עִמְּךָ תַּעֲשֶׂה עִמָּדִי וְעִם הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר גַּרְתָּה בָּהּ.
\n28. וַיְהִי בְּשַׁלַּח פַּרְעֹה אֶת הָעָם. מַה כָּתוּב לְמַעְלָה? וַיָּקָם פַּרְעֹה לַיְלָה הוּא וְכָל עֲבָדָיו. בֹּא רְאֵה, הַנְּקָמָה הָעֶלְיוֹנָה שֶׁעָשָׂה הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא בְּמִצְרַיִם, שְׁלֹשָׁה סוּגֵי מָוֶת הָיוּ: אֶחָד שֶׁעָשׂוּ הַבְּכוֹרִים בְּמִצְרַיִם, שֶׁהָרְגוּ כָּל אוֹתָם שֶׁנִּמְצְאוּ. וְאֶחָד שֶׁהָרַג הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא בַּחֲצוֹת הַלַּיְלָה. וְאֶחָד כְּשֶׁרָאָה פַרְעֹה אֶת הַמָּוֶת בְּבֵיתוֹ בְּבָנָיו וּבַעֲבָדָיו, קָם וְזֵרַז אֶת עַצְמוֹ, וְהָרַג שָׂרִים וּמוֹשְׁלִים וְכָל מִי שֶׁיָּעַץ לוֹ לְסָרֵב לָעָם, עַד שֶׁהַתּוֹרָה מְעִידָה עָלָיו שֶׁהוּא קָם בַּלַּיְלָה מַמָּשׁ, כְּמוֹ [שֶׁהַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא בַּחֲצוֹת] שֶׁהַלַּיְלָה הָרַג בְּכוֹרוֹת וְעָשָׂה נְקָמוֹת, כָּךְ קָם פַּרְעֹה בְּאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם וְהָרַג וְעָשָּׂה נְקָמוֹת בְּשָׂרָיו וּמוֹשְׁלָיו וַאֲמַרְכְּלָיו וּבְכָל אוֹתָם גְּדוֹלִים. זֶהוּ שֶׁכָּתוּב (שמות יב) וַיָּקָם פַּרְעֹה לַיְלָה [לַיְלָה מַמָּשׁ], שֶׁקָּם לַהֲרֹג וּלְהַשְׁמִיד.<\/div>\n

Zohar Beshalach<\/strong><\/p>\n

Exodus 12:30<\/a>
\n“וַיָּקָם פַּרְעֹה לַיְלָה, הוּא וְכָל-עֲבָדָיו וְכָל-מִצְרַיִם, וַתְּהִי צְעָקָה גְדֹלָה, בְּמִצְרָיִם: כִּי-אֵין בַּיִת, אֲשֶׁר אֵין-שָׁם מֵת”
\n“And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he and all his servants and all the Egyptians. And there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was not a house where someone was not dead.”<\/p>\n

The Zohar reveals that Pharaoh got up at night, which was the time of judgment, and because of the death of his firstborn, including those of his slaves, he took revenge and killed all of the ministers that advised him not to let go of the Israelites<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Exodus 13:17<\/a>
\n“וַיְהִי, בְּשַׁלַּח פַּרְעֹה אֶת-הָעָם”
\n“And when Pharaoh had let the people go”<\/p>\n

Pharaoh himself called Moses and Aaron, telling them to live and worship YHVH<\/a>. He also asked for them to bless him because he realized that YHVH<\/a> is the true controlling force in the world and the Egyptians have false gods.<\/p>\n

Most people think that they have control over their lives. They may have all the goods that the material world has to offer – like money, family, business – but when they experience chaos beyond their control they realize that the ‘gods’ of the material world are false and only true faith<\/a> in YHVH<\/a> can bring true balance and strength in life.<\/p>\n
