19. אָמַר לוֹ, וַדַּאי כָּךְ זֶה, וְיֵשׁ בּוֹ לָדַעַת וּלְהִסְתַּכֵּל. בֵּין כָּךְ רָאוּ אָדָם שֶׁהָיָה בָּא, וּבִקֵּשׁ מֵהֶם מַיִם, שֶׁהָיָה צָמֵא וְעָיֵף מֵחֹזֶק הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ. אָמְרוּ לוֹ, מִי אַתָּה? אָמַר לָהֶם? יְהוּדִי אֲנִי, וַאֲנִי עָיֵף וְצָמֵא. אָמְרוּ, עָסַקְתָּ בַּתּוֹרָה? אָמַרלָהֶם, עַד שֶׁאֲנִי אִתְּכֶם בִּדְבָרִים, אֶעֱלֶה לָהָר הַזֶּה, וְשָׁם אֶקַּח מַיִם וְאֶשְׁתֶּה.

\n“כִּי מִקְרֶה בְנֵי-הָאָדָם וּמִקְרֶה הַבְּהֵמָה, וּמִקְרֶה אֶחָד לָהֶם–כְּמוֹת זֶה כֵּן מוֹת זֶה, וְרוּחַ אֶחָד לַכֹּל; וּמוֹתַר הָאָדָם מִן-הַבְּהֵמָה אָיִן, כִּי הַכֹּל הָבֶל”
\n“For what happens to the children of man and what happens to the beasts is the same; as one dies, so dies the other. They all have the same breath, and man has no advantage over the beasts, for all is vanity”<\/p>\n

Rabbi Yessa and Rabbi Chizkiya found that this verse may be an obstacle to those who don’t have faith<\/a>. It compares the life and death of man and beast as the same.
\nThey explained that the words of King Solomon, who is Qoheleth in Ecclesiastes, wrote his words in code from a higher wisdom.<\/p>\n

The Zohar tells a story (started in DZ 1538) about two rabbis finding a simple man on their path. He was tired and thirsty and asked them to wait until he climbs the mountain and gets some water. They gave him water and asked him if he studied the Torah, hoping to share the study with him. He told them that he didn’t study Torah but he put his son to study with a Rabbi and because of that he gained spiritual elevation from the Torah.<\/p>\n

Rabbi Chizkiya praised him for gaining Torah light through the efforts of his son, and explained that their study needs to be looked at from a higher place. The man asked them to share their questions, telling them that sometimes you can find precious stones in a backpack of a poor person.<\/p>\n

This story is coded but the main lesson is that a man has a built-in channel to Chokmah<\/a> and can connect and gain higher spiritual levels with some efforts. As a father who puts his son to study Torah and becomes a channel to the light his son reveals through his study.<\/p>\n

This lesson continues the study from the previous DZ. We gain great and precious light when we support those who revealed the light. Find great channels of light and support them so you may fill your backpack with precious stones.<\/p>\n

For those who are not so spiritual yet, the backpack is the aspect of the individual vessel and the precious stones are gifts from the Light that can manifest to what we need the most in order to help with our Tikkun process.<\/p>\n
