26. בֹּא וּרְאֵה, הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא מַזְהִיר לִבְנֵי הָעוֹלָם וְאָמַר, (דברים ל) וּבָחַרְתָּ בַּחַיִּים לְמַעַן תִּחְיֶה, (בָּעוֹלָם הַזֶּה, וּבָעוֹלָם הַבָּא) וְהַחַיִּים שֶׁל אוֹתוֹ עוֹלָם הֵם. אוֹתָם רְשָׁעִים מְחֻסְּרֵי אֱמוּנָה מָה אוֹמְרִים? כִּי מִי אֲשֶׁר יִבְחַר וְגוֹ’. אַף עַל גַּב שֶׁיִּבְחַר אָדָם בְּזֶה הָעוֹלָם (בְּאוֹתוֹ עוֹלָם) כְּמוֹ שֶׁאָמַר – לֹא כְלוּם הוּא, שֶׁהֲרֵי מָסוּר בְּיָדֵינוּ, (קהלת שם) אֶל כָּל הַחַיִּים יֵשׁ בִּטָּחוֹן, וּמָסוּר הוּא בְיָדֵינוּ, (שם) כִּי לְכֶלֶב חַי הוּא טוֹב מִן הָאַרְיֵה הַמֵּת. אֵיךְ יִהְיֶה לָנוּ חַיִּים בְּאוֹתוֹ עוֹלָם? וְעַל כֵּן זֶה רָע וַדַּאי, שֶׁלֹּא יָדוּרוּ בַּמֶּלֶךְ הָעֶלְיוֹן וְלֹא יִהְיֶה לָהֶם בּוֹ חֵלֶק.וְאַף עַל גַּב שֶׁכָּל הַפְּסוּקִים הַלָּלוּ תִּמְצָא סִמּוּכִין לַחֲבֵרִים בִּדְבָרִים אֲחֵרִים, אֲבָל שְׁלֹמֹה בָּא לְגַלּוֹת עַל אוֹתָם רְשָׁעִים מְחֻסְּרֵי אֱמוּנָה שֶׁאֵין לָהֶם חֵלֶק בַּקָּדוֹשׁ-בָּרוּךְ-הוּא בָּעוֹלָם הַזֶּה וּבָעוֹלָם הַבָּא.<\/div>\n

God put in front of us the freedom to choose between heaven and earth, life and death, blessing and curse and suggests to us to choose life because it will give us future life.<\/p>\n

Deuteronomy 30:19<\/a>
\n“הַעִדֹתִי בָכֶם הַיּוֹם, אֶת-הַשָּׁמַיִם וְאֶת-הָאָרֶץ–הַחַיִּים וְהַמָּוֶת נָתַתִּי לְפָנֶיךָ, הַבְּרָכָה וְהַקְּלָלָה; וּבָחַרְתָּ, בַּחַיִּים–לְמַעַן תִּחְיֶה, אַתָּה וְזַרְעֶךָ”
\n“Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!”<\/p>\n

The Zohar tells us that the warning is directed to all people of the world and not just for the children of Israel<\/a>. The entire world is governed by the same spiritual rules, especially when it comes to ‘choosing life’.<\/p>\n

King Solomon reveals this so we can make the wise decision and be like a man that chooses life and not like a beast that lives and dies in this world.<\/p>\n

Ecclesiastes 9:4<\/a>
\n“כִּי-מִי אֲשֶׁר יבחר (יְחֻבַּר), אֶל כָּל-הַחַיִּים יֵשׁ בִּטָּחוֹן: כִּי-לְכֶלֶב חַי הוּא טוֹב, מִן-הָאַרְיֵה הַמֵּת.”
\n“For whoever is joined with all the living, there is hope; surely a live dog is better than a dead lion.”<\/p>\n

A dog needs to be obedient to his master and eat whatever is given to him. A lion is considered to be the king of all animals. He is strong and dominates his kingdom and subjects but he is still a beast and his life ends in this world.<\/p>\n

If a person humbles himself to a low level but chooses life then he is better than any other person with security of wealth and physical strength. It is temporary and ends with death in this world.<\/p>\n

True life comes from a connection to Zeir Anpin<\/a> and Binah<\/a>. With that connection we earn the ticket to the world to come and have the merit to be resurrected to a state of immortality when the time comes. Focusing on life in the material and temporary world only leads to death in this world, having no future or part in the Final Redemption.<\/p>\n
