25. בֹּא וּרְאֵה, כְּשֶׁמִּזְבֵּחַ אַחֵר מַתְחִיל לְעוֹרֵר הִתְעוֹרְרוּת, כְּשֶׁלֹּא נִמְצָאִים צַדִּיקִים, מִזְבֵּחַ פְּנִימִי מִתְעוֹרֵר אֵלָיו וְעוֹמֵד מוּלוֹ, וְהַדִּינִים שׁוֹכְכִים. וְעַל זֶה עוֹמֵד מוּל זֶה, וְאָז הַדִּין מִסְתַּלֵּק.
\n26. רַבִּי אֶלְעָזָר אוֹמֵר, (במדבר ד) זֹאת עֲבֹדַת בְּנֵי קְהָת בְּאֹהֶל מוֹעֵד קֹדֶשׁ הַקֳּדָשִׁים. בְּשָׁעָה שֶׁבְּנֵי קְהָת לוֹקְחִים קֹדֶשׁ קָדָשִׁים, אָז בָּא כֹהֵן וְחוֹפֶה הַכֹּל, עַד שֶׁלֹּא יִקְרְבוּ לְלָקְחוֹ, וְלֹא רָאוּ מֵעוֹלָם מַה שֶּׁהֵם לוֹקְחִים, אֶלָּא הַכֹּל מְכֻסֶּה מֵהֶם, כְּמוֹ שֶׁכָּתוּב (שם) וּבָא אַהֲרֹן וּבָנָיו בִּנְסֹעַ הַמַּחֲנֶה וְהוֹרִדוּ אֵת פָּרֹכֶת הַמָּסָךְ. וְרֹב כִּסּוּיֵי כְּלֵי הַמִּקְדָּשׁ הֵם תְּכֵלֶת, מִשּׁוּם שֶׁתְּכֵלֶת הֲרֵי בֵּאֲרוּהָ וְנִתְבָּאֵר. אַחֲרֵי שֶׁהִתְכַּסָּה הַכֹּל, מִתְקָרְבִים בְּנֵי קְהָת שֶׁלּוֹקְחִים, וְלֹא מִתְקָרְבִים אֶלָּא בְּאוֹתָם בַּדִּים שֶׁיּוֹצְאִים הַחוּצָה. זֶהוּ שֶׁכָּתוּב (שם) וְכִלָּה אַהֲרֹן וּבָנָיו לְכַסֹּת אֶת הַקֹּדֶשׁ וְגוֹ’, בִּנְסֹעַ הַמַּחֲנֶה וְאַחֲרֵי כֵן יָבֹאוּ בְנֵי קְהָת לָשֵׂאת וְגוֹ’.<\/div>\n

Numbers 4:4<\/a>
\n“זֹאת עֲבֹדַת בְּנֵי-קְהָת, בְּאֹהֶל מוֹעֵד–קֹדֶשׁ, הַקֳּדָשִׁים”
\n“”This is the work of the descendants of Kohath in the tent of meeting, concerning the most holy things.”<\/p>\n

The Levites served in the Holy Tabernacle, supporting the priests<\/a> in their work, but when it was time to move the camp the Levites had different jobs, based on the line of the father. The sons of Kohath dealt with the holiest tools used directly by the priests<\/a> during the services. Aaron and his sons had to cover all their ‘tools’ of service before letting the sons of Kohath carry them.<\/p>\n

Numbers 4:5<\/a>
\n“וּבָא אַהֲרֹן וּבָנָיו, בִּנְסֹעַ הַמַּחֲנֶה, וְהוֹרִדוּ, אֵת פָּרֹכֶת הַמָּסָךְ; וְכִסּוּ-בָהּ–אֵת, אֲרֹן הָעֵדֻת”
\n“”When the camp sets out, Aaron and his sons shall go in and they shall take down the veil of the screen and cover the ark of the testimony with it;”<\/p>\n

Numbers 4:15<\/a>
\n“וְכִלָּה אַהֲרֹן-וּבָנָיו לְכַסֹּת אֶת-הַקֹּדֶשׁ וְאֶת-כָּל-כְּלֵי הַקֹּדֶשׁ, בִּנְסֹעַ הַמַּחֲנֶה, וְאַחֲרֵי-כֵן יָבֹאוּ בְנֵי-קְהָת לָשֵׂאת, וְלֹא-יִגְּעוּ אֶל-הַקֹּדֶשׁ וָמֵתוּ; אֵלֶּה מַשָּׂא בְנֵי-קְהָת, בְּאֹהֶל מוֹעֵד”
\n“”When Aaron and his sons have finished covering the holy objects and all the furnishings of the sanctuary, when the camp is to set out, after that the sons of Kohath shall come to carry them, so that they will not touch the holy objects and die. These are the things in the tent of meeting which the sons of Kohath are to carry”<\/p>\n

When the Holy Tabernacle was initiated, the heads of the tribes brought gifts of carriages and oxen for the use of the Tabernacle. Moses gave the carriages to the other Levites that carried the tent itself and other items but not the sons of Kohath.<\/p>\n

Numbers 7:9<\/a>
\n“וְלִבְנֵי קְהָת, לֹא נָתָן: כִּי-עֲבֹדַת הַקֹּדֶשׁ עֲלֵהֶם, בַּכָּתֵף יִשָּׂאוּ.”
\n“But he did not give any to the sons of Kohath because theirs was the service of the holy objects, which they carried on the shoulder.”<\/p>\n

We read that when the heads of the tribes brought the gifts, God told Moses to take them and dedicate them to the Levites according to their service.
\nNumbers 7:5<\/a> “”Accept these things from them, that they may be used in the service of the tent of meeting, and you shall give them to the Levites, to each man according to his service.””<\/p>\n

Moses himself made the decision of not giving a carriage to the sons of Kohath. They had to carry the tools of the Tabernacle on their shoulders because they were holy. They couldn’t use a carriage pulled by oxen because it would lower the level of the holy tools.<\/p>\n

We should treat our spiritual tools with the utmost care and respect. They are our channels for the Light and a significant part of the vessel that holds our desire to receive the Light.<\/p>\n

When we take the Zohar we should have clean hands and good consciousness. It’s good to scan Zohar while eating alone but it won’t be good if you drop some crumbs or other food on the book.<\/p>\n
