26. וְהַשָּׂטָן, מִי זֶה וְהַשָּׂטָן? אוֹתוֹ מְמֻנֶּה עַל הַנְּפָשׁוֹת בַּגֵּיהִנֹּם, שֶׁתַּאֲוָתוֹ לְקַחְתּוֹ, וְתָמִיד עוֹמֵד וְאוֹמֵר הַב הַב, תְּנוּ רְשָׁעִים לַגֵּיהִנֹּם. לְשִׂטְנוֹ – לְהַזְכִּיר חֲטָאָיו. וְאָז – וַיֹּאמֶר ה’ אֶל הַשָּׂטָן יִגְעַר ה’ בְּךָ הַשָּׂטָן וְיִגְעַר ה’ בְּךָ. שְׁתֵּי גְעָרוֹת לָמָּה? אֶלָּא אֶחָד לְדוּמָה, וְאֶחָד לְאוֹתוֹ שֶׁיּוֹצֵא מִגֵּיהִנֹּם שֶׁעוֹמֵד תָּמִיד לְהַשְׂטִין.
\n27. בֹּא וּרְאֵה, אוֹתוֹ שָׂטָן עֶלְיוֹן יוֹרֵד כְּמוֹ שֶׁפֵּרְשׁוּהוּ, שֶׁהִתְגַּלֵּם בִּדְמוּת שׁוֹר, וְכָל אוֹתָן רוּחוֹת רָעוֹת שֶׁנִּדּוֹנוּ לְהִכָּנֵס לַגֵּיהִנֹּם, לוֹחֵךְ אוֹתָן בְּרֶגַע אֶחָד וְחוֹטְפָן, וְיוֹרֵד וְנוֹתְנָן לְדוּמָה לְאַחַר שֶׁבּוֹלְעָם. וְזֶהוּ שֶׁכָּתוּב וַיֹּאמֶר מוֹאָב אֶל זִקְנֵי מִדְיָן עַתָּה יְלַחֲכוּ הַקָּהָל אֶת כָּל סְבִיבֹתֵינוּ כִּלְחֹךְ הַשּׁוֹר, הַנּוֹדָע, הַשּׁוֹר שֶׁעוֹמֵד לְרַע עַל כָּל בְּנֵי הָעוֹלָם. אֶת יֶרֶק הַשָּׂדֶה – אוֹתָן רוּחוֹת בְּנֵי אָדָם, שֶׁהֵם יֶרֶק הַשָּׂדֶה. הַשָּׂדֶה – אוֹתוֹ הַשָּׂדֶה הַיָּדוּעַ.<\/div>\n

Zechariah 3:1<\/a>
\n“וַיַּרְאֵנִי, אֶת-יְהוֹשֻׁעַ הַכֹּהֵן הַגָּדוֹל, עֹמֵד, לִפְנֵי מַלְאַךְ יְהוָה; וְהַשָּׂטָן עֹמֵד עַל-יְמִינוֹ, לְשִׂטְנוֹ”
\n“Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of YHVH<\/a>, and Satan<\/a> standing at his right hand to accuse him.”<\/p>\n

The Zohar reveals that the ‘angel of YHVH<\/a>’ is the angel Metatron, who is the head of the assembly of the heaven. He sets the verdict on everything.<\/p>\n

Zechariah 3:2<\/a>
\n“וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל-הַשָּׂטָן, יִגְעַר יְהוָה בְּךָ הַשָּׂטָן, וְיִגְעַר יְהוָה בְּךָ, הַבֹּחֵר בִּירוּשָׁלִָם; הֲלוֹא זֶה אוּד, מֻצָּל מֵאֵשׁ”
\n“Then YHVH<\/a> said to Satan<\/a>, “YHVH<\/a> rebuke you, Satan<\/a>! Indeed, YHVH<\/a> who has chosen Jerusalem<\/a> rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?””<\/p>\n

When the soul stands in the upper court, Satan<\/a> has the right to list all the sins, so he can take the soul to Gehinnom<\/a> (‘hell’). Then YHVH<\/a> rebukes Satan<\/a> twice. The Zohar explains that one is for the angel Dumah<\/a>, the minister of Gehinnom<\/a>, and the second is the rebuke to Satan<\/a> that comes out of Gehinnom<\/a> to demand judgment on the soul.<\/p>\n

The Satan<\/a> comes to the court in the image of an Ox (aspect of the Left), and he grabs all the souls that were judged to Gehinnom<\/a> and delivers them to Dumah<\/a>.<\/p>\n
