Zohar Vayetze<\/strong><\/p>\n

Please forgive me for the challenging title. You will understand it after completing this study.<\/span><\/p>\n

Genesis 28:10<\/a>
\n<\/span>“<\/span>וַיֵּצֵא יַעֲקֹב, מִבְּאֵר שָׁבַע; וַיֵּלֶךְ, חָרָנָה<\/span>”
\n<\/span>“<\/span>Jacob left Beersheba and went toward Haran.<\/span>”<\/span><\/p>\n

The Zohar explains that ‘Jacob went out’ is the aspect of radiation of Light, ‘Zohar’, that includes two colors that come together and are revealed as the scarlet color. In the same manner as regular colors that include different colors in them, so does the Light that comes down to the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

We receive the Light of the upper three Sefirot from Binah<\/a>. It comes down when the Right and the Left come together to form the Central column. Jacob’s grandfather was Abraham of Chessed<\/a> and his father, Isaac, was Gevurah<\/a>. Jacob was born complete and could join the right and the left to reveal the center. Because of him the Light of Binah<\/a> can be revealed in this world. His name Jacob ,’יעקב’, means ‘will follow’ given to him when he was born following Esau. The negativity came out first as God told his mother<\/a> that the older will serve the younger. <\/span><\/p>\n

Genesis 25:23<\/a>
\n<\/span>“<\/span>וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה לָהּ, שְׁנֵי גֹיִים בְּבִטְנֵךְ, וּשְׁנֵי לְאֻמִּים, מִמֵּעַיִךְ יִפָּרֵדוּ; וּלְאֹם מִלְאֹם יֶאֱמָץ, וְרַב יַעֲבֹד צָעִיר<\/span>”
\n<\/span>“<\/span>And YHVH<\/a> said to her, “Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples from within you shall be divided; the one shall be stronger than the other, the older shall serve the younger.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Jacob was always with the Light and earned the ability to join the two columns into one. That gave him the power to overcome the angel of the negative side (portion of Vayishlach) and receive the name ישראל, ‘Israel<\/a>’, giving him control over Zeir Anpin<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rabbi Ashlag in his commentary to Zohar Balak #82 explains that Israel<\/a>, ישראל, also means לי ראש, ‘I have the head’, is the aspect of Zeir Anpin<\/a> and the the land of Israel<\/a>, ארץ ישראל, is Malchut<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lessons:
\n<\/span>Jacob merited a new name without losing his birth name to give him ability to control the lower levels. He is the father of all the children of Israel<\/a>. He gave us the connection to the upper levels of the Tree of Life<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

In the silent prayers we start by mentioning Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, using them as a tool to connect to Zeir Anpin<\/a> and upper levels. Without Jacob we couldn’t have Israel<\/a> and connection to the ‘head’.<\/span><\/p>\n

No other nation in the world can ever have control over the land of Israel<\/a> because it was given to the children of Israel<\/a> to control. All the empires that tried to control Israel<\/a> lost their ‘head’. Their empires broke down soon after they lost the hold over Israel<\/a>. The Babylonians, the Greeks, the Romans, the Ottomans (Turks), and the British. They wanted a ‘head’ that wasn’t theirs and they lost their own. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Israelites<\/a> are known for their ‘heads’. They are at the ‘head’ of new inventions, knowledge and technology. All because of Jacob, who was the first Israelite with a head.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our connections to the ‘head’ with the study of the Zohar add to the protection of the Land of Israel<\/a> and all the children of Israel<\/a> around the world. <\/span><\/p>\n
