23. אָמַר רַבִּי אַבָּא, כָּל הָעוֹלָם הָיוּ יוֹדְעִים שֶׁלָּבָן הָיָה גְּדוֹל הַחֲכָמִים וְהַמְּכַשְּׁפִים וְהַקּוֹסְמִים, וּמִי שֶׁרָצָה לְאַבֵּד אוֹתוֹ בִּכְשָׁפָיו, לֹא נִצַּל מִמֶּנּוּ, וְכָל מַה שֶּׁיָּדַע בִּלְעָם – מִמֶּנּוּ הָיָה, וְכָתוּב בְּבִלְעָם (במדבר כב) כִּי יָדַעְתִּי אֵת אֲשֶׁר תְּבָרֵךְ מְבֹרָךְ וַאֲשֶׁר תָּאֹר יוּאָר, וְכָל הָעוֹלָם הָיוּ פוֹחֲדִים מִלָּבָן וּמִכְּשָׁפָיו. וְדָבָר רִאשׁוֹן שֶׁשָּׁלַח יַעֲקֹב לְעֵשָׂו – אָמַר עִם לָבָן גַּרְתִּי.
\n24. וְאִם תֹּאמַר שֶׁמְּעַט הָיָה, חֹדֶשׁ אוֹ שָׁנָה – לֹא כָּךְ, אֶלָּא וָאֵחַר עַד עָתָּה, עֶשְׂרִים שָׁנָה הִתְאַחַרְתִּי עִמּוֹ. וְאִם תֹּאמַר שֶׁלֹּא עָלָה בְיָדִי כְּלוּם – וַיְהִי לִי שׁוֹר וַחֲמוֹר. אוֹתָם שְׁנֵי גִּזְרֵי דִין, שֶׁכְּשֶׁשְּׁנֵיהֶם מִתְחַבְּרִים יַחַד, לֹא מִתְחַבְּרִים אֶלָּא לְהָרַע לָעוֹלָם, וְלָכֵן כָּתוּב (דברים כב) לֹא תַחֲרֹשׁ בְּשׁוֹר וּבַחֲמֹר יַחְדָּו.<\/div>\n

In his message to Esau, Jacob tells Esau that he lived with Laban and adds:
\nGenesis 32:6<\/a>
\n“וַיְהִי-לִי שׁוֹר וַחֲמוֹר, צֹאן וְעֶבֶד וְשִׁפְחָה; וָאֶשְׁלְחָה לְהַגִּיד לַאדֹנִי, לִמְצֹא-חֵן בְּעֵינֶיךָ”
\n“I have oxen, donkeys, flocks, male servants, and female servants. I have sent to tell my lord, in order that I may find favor in your sight.”<\/p>\n

Deuteronomy 22:10<\/a>
\n“ לֹא-תַחֲרֹשׁ בְּשׁוֹר-וּבַחֲמֹר, יַחְדָּו”
\n“You shall not plow with an ox and a donkey together.”<\/p>\n

The Zohar explains that Ox and donkey represent judgments that brings harms. If they come together they can harm the world with judgments.<\/p>\n

Jacob wanted Esau to know that Laban had no power over him and he could also control great negative energies.<\/p>\n

Jacob receives blessings that give him ‘automated’ protection.
\nGenesis 27:29<\/a>
\n“אֹרְרֶיךָ אָרוּר, וּמְבָרְכֶיךָ בָּרוּךְ”
\n“Cursed be those who curse you, And blessed be those who bless you.”<\/p>\n

Balak and Balaam came to curse the children of Israel<\/a> in the wilderness but they couldn’t do it. Balaam ends blessing instead of cursing and he was killed later. Balak disappeared from the Torah.<\/p>\n
