18. אֶלָּא יַעֲקֹב, הֲרֵי בֵּאַרְנוּ, נָטַל הַבַּיִת שֶׁלְּמַטָּה, וְנֶעֱזַב מִמֶּנּוּ הַבַּיִת שֶׁלְּמַעְלָה, וְעִם הַבַּיִת שֶׁלְּמַטָּה הִתְקִין אֶת הַבַּיִת שֶׁלְּמַעְלָה בִּשְׁנֵים עָשָׂר שְׁבָטִים וּבְשִׁבְעִים עֲנָפִים, וַהֲרֵי פֵּרְשׁוּהָ. מֹשֶׁה נָטַל אֶת הַבַּיִת שֶׁלְּמַעְלָה, וְעָזַב אֶת הַבַּיִת שֶׁלְּמַטָּה, וְלָכֵן כָּתוּב בְּיַעֲקֹב בְּאֵל שַׁדַּי. בְּאֵל שַׁדַּי דִּבֵּר עִם הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא וְלֹא יוֹתֵר. וּשְׁמִי ה’ לֹא נוֹדַעְתִּי לָהֶם, לְדַבֵּר עִמָּם בְּדַרְגָּה זוֹ שֶׁהִיא עֶלְיוֹנָה.
\n19. וָאֵרָא אֶל אַבְרָהָם אֶל יִצְחָק וְאֶל יַעֲקֹב. אָמַר רַבִּי חִיָּיא, בְּחִיר הָאָבוֹת הָיָה יַעֲקֹב, שֶׁהוּא שְׁלֵמוּת הַכֹּל. בְּכֻלָּם כָּתוּב אֶל אַבְרָהָם, אֶל יִצְחָק, וּבוֹ הִתּוֹסְפָה אוֹת אַחַת, שֶׁכָּתוּב וְאֶל יַעֲקֹב. הִתּוֹסְפָה בּוֹ ו’, לְהַרְאוֹת שֶׁהוּא שָׁלֵם יוֹתֵר מִכֻּלָּם, וְעִם כָּל זֶה לֹא זָכָה לְהִשְׁתַּמֵּשׁ בּוֹ כְּמֹשֶׁה.
\n20. וְגַם הֲקִמֹתִי אֶת בְּרִיתִי אִתָּם לָתֵת לָהֶם אֶת אֶרֶץ כְּנָעַן, מִשּׁוּם שֶׁנִּמּוֹלוּ. שֶׁכָּל מִי שֶׁנִּמּוֹל, יוֹרֵשׁ אֶת הָאָרֶץ, שֶׁהֲרֵי לֹא יוֹרֵשׁ אֶרֶץ אֶלָּא צַדִּיק, וְכָל מִי שֶׁנִּמּוֹל נִקְרָא צַדִּיק, שֶׁכָּתוּב (ישעיה ס) וְעַמֵּךְ כֻּלָּם צַדִּיקִים לְעוֹלָם יִירְשׁוּ אָרֶץ. כָּל מִי שֶׁנִּמּוֹל וְשׁוֹמֵר אוֹת הַבְּרִית הַזֹּאת, נִקְרָא צַדִּיק. בֹּא רְאֵה מִיּוֹסֵף, שֶׁכָּל יָמָיו לֹא נִקְרָא צַדִּיק עַד שֶׁשָּׁמַר אוֹתָהּ בְּרִית, אוֹת בְּרִית הַקֹּדֶשׁ. כֵּיוָן שֶׁשָּׁמַר אוֹתוֹ, נִקְרָא צַדִּיק, יוֹסֵף הַצַּדִּיק.<\/div>\n

Exodus 6:3<\/a>
\n<\/span>“וָאֵרָא, אֶל-אַבְרָהָם אֶל-יִצְחָק וְאֶל-יַעֲקֹב–בְּאֵל שַׁדָּי; וּשְׁמִי יְהוָה, לֹא נוֹדַעְתִּי לָהֶם”
\n<\/span>“I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but by my name YHVH<\/a> I did not make myself known to them.”<\/span><\/p>\n

God prepares Moses for the mission of taking the Israelites<\/a> out of Egypt. He tells him that he revealed himself to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob with the name אל-שדי (El Shaddai) but not with the higher name, YHVH<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The letter Vav in the aspect of Zeir Anpin<\/a> and in Hebrew is a letter that connects the previous word with the next like the word ‘and’ in English’. The verse says ‘to Abraham, to Isaac, <\/span>and<\/b> to Jacob…’. The Zohar explains that Jacob merited the connection to the Vav for his righteousness but he couldn’t use the the full potential of the Vav and Zeir Anpin<\/a> like Moses.<\/span><\/p>\n
