33. פָּתַח וְאָמַר, (במדבר י) וְכִי תָבֹאוּ מִלְחָמָה בְּאַרְצְכֶם עַל הַצַּר הַצֹּרֵר אֶתְכֶם וְגוֹ’. וְדִיַּקְנוּ עַל הַצַּר, זֶה מַלְאַךְ הַמָּוֶת, הַצּוֹרֵר אֶתְכֶם תָּמִיד וְהוֹרֵג בְּנֵי אָדָם, (וּמֵצִיק לַחַיִּים) וְרוֹצֶה לַהֲרֹג אֲחֵרִים. מַהִי תַקָּנָתוֹ? וַהֲרֵעֹתֶם. אִם בְּרֹאשׁ הַשָּׁנָה, שֶׁהוּא יוֹם הַדִּין לְמַעְלָה, מַלְאַךְ הַמָּוֶת הַזֶּה יוֹרֵד לְמַטָּה כְּדֵי לְהַשְׁגִּיחַ עַל מַעֲשֵׂי בְּנֵי הָאָדָם וְלַעֲלוֹת לְמַעְלָה לְהַסְטִין עֲלֵיהֶם. וְיִשְׂרָאֵל שֶׁיּוֹדְעִים שֶׁהֲרֵי מַלְאַךְ הַמָּוֶת יוֹרֵד מַטָּה וְעוֹלֶה לְמַעְלָה כְּדֵי לִהְיוֹת קָטֵגוֹר עֲלֵיהֶם, מְקַדְּמִים בַּשּׁוֹפָר לְיַבֵּב עָלָיו שֶׁלֹּא יוּכַל לָהֶם, וּלְהָגֵן עֲלֵיהֶם.
\n34. וְכָל שֶׁכֵּן בְּשָׁעָה שֶׁעוֹשֶׂה דִין וְהוֹרֵג בְּנֵי אָדָם וְנִמְצָא לְמַטָּה, וְכָל שֶׁכֵּן בְּשָׁעָה שֶׁהוֹלְכִים לְבֵית הַקְּבָרוֹת וְחוֹזְרִים מִבֵּית הַקְּבָרוֹת, שֶׁהֲרֵי בְּשָׁעָה שֶׁנָּשִׁים נוֹטְלוֹת רַגְלֵיהֶן עִם הַמֵּת, הוּא יוֹרֵד וְנִמְצָא לִפְנֵיהֶם, שֶׁכָּתוּב (משלי ה) רַגְלֶיהָ יֹרְדוֹת מָוֶת. יוֹרְדוֹת לְאָן? לְאוֹתוֹ מָקוֹם שֶׁנִּקְרָא מָוֶת. וְעַל זֶה חַוָּה גָּרְמָה מָוֶת לְכָל הָעוֹלָם, הָרַחֲמָן יַצִּילֵנוּ.<\/div>\n

Numbers 10:9<\/a>
\n“ וְכִי-תָבֹאוּ מִלְחָמָה בְּאַרְצְכֶם, עַל-הַצַּר הַצֹּרֵר אֶתְכֶם–וַהֲרֵעֹתֶם, בַּחֲצֹצְרֹת; וְנִזְכַּרְתֶּם, לִפְנֵי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם, וְנוֹשַׁעְתֶּם, מֵאֹיְבֵיכֶם.”
\n“When you go to war in your land against the adversary who attacks you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, that you may be remembered before the LORD your God, and be saved from your enemies.”<\/p>\n

The Zohar brings this verse and explains that the ‘adversary’ is the angel of death<\/a> and ‘who attacks you’ is his mission to find reasons to kill us. The verse gives us the protection and suggests to use the Shofar<\/a> to break his power.
\nWe do that on Rosh Hashanah when the angel of death<\/a> comes down to read people’s actions and bring them up for prosecution in front of the higher judge.
\nThe Shofar<\/a> is a great spiritual tool that helps us against the prosecutor.<\/p>\n

Proverbs 5:5<\/a>
\n“ רַגְלֶיהָ, יֹרְדוֹת מָוֶת; שְׁאוֹל, צְעָדֶיהָ יִתְמֹכוּ.”
\n“Her feet go down to death, Her steps take hold of Sheol.”<\/p>\n

When women escort the dead, their legs walk with the angel of death<\/a> and that is also time to sound the Shofar<\/a> and break his hold.<\/p>\n
