Genesis 2:10<\/a>
\n“וְנָהָר יֹצֵא מֵעֵדֶן, לְהַשְׁקוֹת אֶת-הַגָּן; וּמִשָּׁם, יִפָּרֵד, וְהָיָה, לְאַרְבָּעָה רָאשִׁים”
\n“Now a river flowed out of Eden to water the garden; and from there it divided and became four rivers.”<\/p>\n

The Zohar explains that ‘Eden’ is Chokmah<\/a>, the ‘Father’. The “River’ is Binah<\/a>, ‘Mother<\/a>’ that nourishes all the levels below. Father and Mother<\/a> are always in unification because they create the flow of the ‘river’ that must have continuous flow from the upper level to the six sefirot of Zeir Anpin<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The aspect of ‘eating’ we discussed previously is on the higher levels of Chokmah<\/a> and Binah<\/a> because they are the source. To have a ‘drink’ a prior process of producing liquid must occur and therefore drinking is a secondary level.<\/p>\n

In the lower level of Malchut<\/a> we need to make connection to open the flow of energy from the upper to the lower. This is the aspect of lovers (see previous DZ, Song of Songs 5:1<\/a>) who come together as Zeir Anpin<\/a> and Malchut<\/a> to draw from the ‘river’ flowing down from Chokmah<\/a> and Binah<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We should always remember that we must make spiritual connection to the upper levels in order to draw life energy that benefits our lives. Many go to ‘social clubs’, paying good money to study diluted Kabbalah, expecting miracles in their lives but nothing much happen expect for the feeling of having a big prize lottery ticket before the drawing. They keep buying the ‘tickets’ and keep hoping. Only those who seek the knowledge to have a cleansing process as Rabbi Ashlag taught can gradually benefit from all studies of Kabbalah. But without proper spiritual connections from poor and pure hearts they may knock on the rock but water will not come out.<\/p>\n
