34. וְהֵם חֲמִשָּׁה בְרִיחִים, שֶׁנִּקְרָאִים חֲמֵשׁ מֵאוֹת שָׁנִים, שֶׁהוֹלֵךְ בָּהֶם עֵץ הַחַיִּים. וּבְרִית קֹדֶשׁ מִתְעוֹרֵר (נִמּוֹל) בַּחֲמֵשׁ אֶצְבְּעוֹת הַיָּדַיִם, וְדָבָר (נִסְתָּר) תֵּמַהּ הוּא עַל מַה שֶּׁאָמַרְתָּ. וְלָכֵן כָּל בִּרְכוֹת הַכֹּהֵן תְּלוּיוֹת בָּאֶצְבָּעוֹת. פְּרִישַׂת יְדֵי מֹשֶׁה עַל זֶה הָיְתָה.

After the child revealed that the two rabbis didn’t say the Shema prayer in its time they sat to eat. Before they could wash their hands and make the blessings, the child said to them that those who bless with dirty hands are punished by death.
\nHe quotes Exodus 30:20<\/a>
\n“בְּבֹאָם אֶל-אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד, יִרְחֲצוּ-מַיִם–וְלֹא יָמֻתוּ; אוֹ בְגִשְׁתָּם אֶל-הַמִּזְבֵּחַ לְשָׁרֵת, לְהַקְטִיר אִשֶּׁה לַיהוָה”
\n“when they enter the tent of meeting, they shall wash with water, so that they will not die; or when they approach the altar to minister, by offering up in smoke a fire sacrifice to YHVH<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

We are in the world of Action, which is Malchut<\/a>. It literally means kingdom and also it has the root word of ‘work’. Only with a process of work we can draw Light into our dark world that is based on time. Everything is temporary, which means ends with death.<\/p>\n

Our hands and feet have the most significant value in our work for Light. We have ten fingers on our hands and that gives us ability to raise our hands above and make spiritual connection. We have 10 toes on our feet to navigate in this world. The 10 represents the Ten Sefirot to give us complete connection to the Tree of Life<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The act of washing the hands removes the aspect of death from our work. Any kind of dirt may corrupt our spiritual connection and categorize it as ‘death’.
\nWater, H2O, has the atomic number of 10 and weight of 18, a number that represents life.
\nEating is considered a spiritual connection because with food we transform food to energy and we want only the best of it to stay and energize our bodies. Before we do anything that is related to a precept we should have our hands clean physically and spiritually.<\/p>\n
