\nShoftim is a short portion in the Zohar. It has only 24 paragraphs and we will conclude its study in DZ 1906<\/p>\n

Deuteronomy 30:19<\/a>
\n“הַעִדֹתִי בָכֶם הַיּוֹם, אֶת-הַשָּׁמַיִם וְאֶת-הָאָרֶץ”
\n“I call heaven and earth to as your witnesses, today”<\/p>\n

The two witnesses are:
\nThe heaven, which is the aspect of the Central column, Zeir Anpin<\/a> and Yessod<\/a> that is righteous.
\n1 Kings 8:32<\/a>
\n“וְאַתָּה תִּשְׁמַע הַשָּׁמַיִם, וְעָשִׂיתָ וְשָׁפַטְתָּ אֶת-עֲבָדֶיךָ”
\n“Then hear in heaven and act and judge your servants”<\/p>\n

The earth is Malchut<\/a>
\nIsaiah 66:1<\/a>
\n“כֹּה, אָמַר יְהוָה, הַשָּׁמַיִם כִּסְאִי, וְהָאָרֶץ הֲדֹם רַגְלָי”
\n“Thus says YHVH<\/a>, “Heaven is My throne and the earth is My footstool”<\/p>\n

The Zohar reveals that the first witness of Zeir Anpin<\/a> is represented by the two large letters ע and ד from the verse of “Shema Israel<\/a>”. These two letters עד mean ‘witness’.<\/p>\n

The ‘witness’ of Malchut<\/a> is represented by the last two letters, עד, of the verse “Baruch Shem…” that follows. See image below.<\/p>\n

The witness of Zeir Anpin<\/a> reveals the Light we revealed through our actions and spiritual connections.<\/span><\/p>\n
