31. מַה שֶּׁהָיָה אוֹתוֹ שֵׁד, חוֹזֵר מַלְאָךְ שֶׁלּוֹ מְטַטְרוֹ”ן (רוּחַ מִמֶּנּוּ), וְחוֹזֵר לִהְיוֹת שַׁדַּי, שֶׁכָּךְ עוֹלֶה מְטַטְרוֹן בְּחֶשְׁבּוֹן שַׁדַּי. וּמִיָּד יִתְקַיֵּם בּוֹ, וְלוֹ תִהְיֶה לְאִשָּׁה לֹא יוּכַל לְשַׁלְּחָהּ כָּל יָמָיו. וְאִם לֹא חָזַר בִּתְשׁוּבָה, הִיא מִשְׁתַּעְבֶּדֶת אֵלָיו בַּחֲטָאִים שֶׁעָשְׂתָה, וְיִתְקַיֵּם בָּהּ, הָאִשָּׁה וִילָדֶיהָ תִּהְיֶה לַאדֹנֶיהָ. וְנֶאֱמַר בְּאוֹתוֹ שֵׁד בַּעַל חוֹבוֹ, וְהוּא יֵצֵא בְּגַפּוֹ. וְהַשֵּׁד הַזֶּה הוּא כְּמוֹ הַמַּטֶּה שֶׁל מֹשֶׁה, שֶׁהִתְהַפֵּךְ מִמַּטֶּה לְנָחָשׁ, וּמִנָּחָשׁ לְמַטֶּה. כָּךְ הַשֵּׁד הַזֶּה, מִתְהַפֵּךְ מִשֵּׁד לְמַלְאָךְ, וּמִמַּלְאָךְ לְשֵׁד, כְּפִי מַעֲשֵׂי הָאָדָם. וּמִכָּאן נוֹדָע יוֹסֵף הַשֵּׁד לָמָּה נִקְרָא כָּךְ.
\n32. וְעַל שֵׁם שֵׁדִים שֶׁבָּאוּ מִזֶּה, פֵּרְשׁוּהָ בַּעֲלֵי הַמִּשְׁנָה, שֶׁיֵּשׁ מֵהֶם כְּמוֹ מַלְאֲכֵי הַשָּׁרֵת, וְהֵם תַּלְמִידֵי חֲכָמִים שֶׁיּוֹדְעִים מַה שֶּׁהָיָה וּמַה שֶּׁעָתִיד לִהְיוֹת. וְהֵם בִּדְמֻיּוֹתֵיהֶם בָּאָרֶץ, אֵלּוּ בַּעֲלֵי פִּילוֹסוֹפְיָה, אִצְטַגְנִינֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, שֶׁיּוֹדְעִים מַה שֶּׁהָיָה וּמַה שֶּׁעָתִיד לִהְיוֹת מֵאוֹתוֹת הַחַמָּה וְהַלְּבָנָה, מִלִּקּוּי שֶׁלָּהֶם, וְכָל כּוֹכָב וּמַזָּל, וּמַה הוּא מַרְאֶה בָעוֹלָם.<\/div>\n

\nZohar Ki Tetze<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Zohar teaches us that the soul is the aspect of the Letter Yod י . The negative forces created through sins and all kind of impurities are the aspect of שד, ‘Demon’. These forces strengthen the evil inclination and add to the power of the body consciousness to overcome the pure soul of the person. If the person avoids negativity, he keeps the soul in pure state. The pure soul with the letter Yod י overcomes the potential שד demon and becomes שדי. שדי is a holy name that provides protection. We write it on the Mezuzah that we place on our doors for protection. It has the numerical value of 314 as the name of the archangel Metatron (מטטרון). He protects the gate between the lower and upper worlds.<\/p>\n

The actions of a person can transform the impure forces from demons to pure angels. With negative actions they may turn their positive angles to negative.
\nThe sage tells us to avoid those who are not pure and study Torah only from those who are pure and are surrounded with pure angels, because their purity makes them like the higher angels that serve YHVH<\/a>.<\/p>\n
