34. רֹאשׁ – זֶה לֶעָתִיד לָבֹא כְּשֶׁיִּתְעוֹרְרוּ הַמֵּתִים, שֶׁהֲרֵי אָז הָעוֹלָם יִהְיֶה רֹא”שׁ, שֶׁיִּתְקַיֵּם בָּרֹא”שׁ, שֶׁהוּא הָעוֹלָם הָעֶלְיוֹן. וְאַתָּה תְּשׁוּפֶנּוּ עָקֵב – זֶה בָּעוֹלָם הַזֶּה, כָּעֵת שֶׁהוּא עָקֵב וְאֵינוֹ בְּקִיּוּם, וְאוֹתוֹ הַנָּחָשׁ נוֹשֵׁךְ אֶת הָעוֹלָם וּמַחְשִׁיךְ פְּנֵי הַבְּרִיּוֹת.

Genesis 3:15<\/a>
\n“וְאֵיבָה אָשִׁית, בֵּינְךָ וּבֵין הָאִשָּׁה, וּבֵין זַרְעֲךָ, וּבֵין זַרְעָהּ: הוּא יְשׁוּפְךָ רֹאשׁ, וְאַתָּה תְּשׁוּפֶנּוּ עָקֵב.”
\n“And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel.”<\/p>\n

The ‘heel’ is the aspect of the world before the Final Correction and the control of the Snake<\/a>. The ‘head’ is the aspect of time after completing the tikkun of the world. The head represents the upper three sefirot that will shine in the world after the correction of the global tikkun.<\/p>\n

Man was created for a life process of 70 years corresponding to the seven sefirot. The main tikun process<\/a> is during this life period. Beyond that there’s no Sefira to draw ‘life’ from it. For most people life after 70 years is only opportunity to be righteous.
\nGenesis 23:1<\/a>
\n“וַיִּהְיוּ חַיֵּי שָׂרָה, מֵאָה שָׁנָה וְעֶשְׂרִים שָׁנָה וְשֶׁבַע שָׁנִים–שְׁנֵי, חַיֵּי שָׂרָה”
\n“Now Sarah lived one hundred and twenty-seven years; these were the years of the two lives of Sarah.”<\/p>\n

Righteous people who live longer than 70 years continue their work for the correction of the world, and they are considered to have two lives. One of 70 year and the second life is beyond that age. Righteous people draw life force from the upper three sefirot.<\/p>\n

‘Two lives’ are also mentioned about Abraham and Ishmael. The Zohar explains that because Ishmael did Teshuvah<\/a> (repentance<\/a>) he merited a second life for the process of repentance<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Before age 70 we need to put efforts on our soul cleansing and reach level of righteousness to live longer. We then have more opportunities to increase the size and purity of our vessels and merit the world to come.<\/p>\n

It’s never too late to come back to the path of the Light and righteousness, even if we are older than 70 years.<\/p>\n
