48. רַבִּי חִיָּיא וְרַבִּי יוֹסֵי הָיוּ הוֹלְכִים בַּדֶּרֶךְ. אָמַר רַבִּי יוֹסֵי לְרַבִּי חִיָּיא, תְּמֵהַנִי עַל זֶה שֶׁאָמַר שְׁלֹמֹה, כָּל הַדְּבָרִים [הַמִּלִּים] סְתוּמִים וְלֹא נוֹדָעִים, שֶׁהֲרֵי קֹהֶלֶת סְתוּם [הַמִּלִּים] הַסְּתוּמִים.

\n50. אָמַר רַבִּי חִיָּיא, כָּךְ זֶה, שֶׁדִּבּוּר שֶׁל אָדָם לֹא יָכוֹל לְדַבֵּר, וְהָעֵינַיִם לִרְאוֹת וְהָאָזְנַיִם לִשְׁמֹעַ, וְאֵין כָּל חָדָשׁ תַּחַת הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ. וּבֹא רְאֵה, אֲפִלּוּ בְּרִיּוֹת וְרוּחוֹת שֶׁעָשָׂה הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא תַּחַת הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ לֹא יְכוֹלִים לְדַבֵּר כָּל דִּבְרֵי הָעוֹלָם, וְהָעַיִן לֹא יְכוֹלָה לִשְׁלֹט וְלִרְאוֹת וְהָאֹזֶן לִשְׁמֹעַ. וּמִשּׁוּם כָּךְ שְׁלֹמֹה שֶׁהָיָה יוֹדֵעַ כָּל דָּבָר הָיָה אוֹמֵר אֶת זֶה.<\/div>\n

Ecclesiastes 1:8<\/a>
\n“כָּל-הַדְּבָרִים יְגֵעִים, לֹא-יוּכַל אִישׁ לְדַבֵּר; לֹא-תִשְׂבַּע עַיִן לִרְאוֹת, וְלֹא-תִמָּלֵא אֹזֶן מִשְּׁמֹעַ.”
\n“All things are wearisome; Man is not able to tell it. The eye is not satisfied with seeing, Nor is the ear filled with hearing.”<\/p>\n

The more efforts we put into our studies we find out how little we know and understand. We find that there’s always more to read and learn.<\/p>\n

With the studies of the Torah and Zohar we expand our vessel with the Light of the Endless and with it comes the feeling and understanding that there’s more ‘Endless’ to discover. In other words, as we draw more Endless Light into the vessel, the vessel feels smaller than before even if the vessel grew with the additional Light. The desire to have more of the ‘Endless’ grows bigger.<\/p>\n

The Zohar reveals that the words of Ecclesiastes, who was King Solomon, are ‘blocked’ from understanding.
\nKing Solomon was known to be the wisest of all people. He understood that everything is the Endless and we can never come close to understanding it.
\nEcclesiastes 1:9<\/a>
\n“מַה-שֶּׁהָיָה, הוּא שֶׁיִּהְיֶה, וּמַה-שֶּׁנַּעֲשָׂה, הוּא שֶׁיֵּעָשֶׂה; וְאֵין כָּל-חָדָשׁ, תַּחַת הַשָּׁמֶשׁ”
\n“That which has been is that which will be, And that which has been done is that which will be done. So there is nothing new under the sun.”<\/p>\n

In this world we are also limited by our senses. The eyes and ears are not under our control. We may see or hear things that we would like to forget immediately or wish to get more of it but we can’t. We can have control over our mouth but it is limited to express only what we see, hear and understand. The abilities of these three senses represent the complete power of a person.<\/p>\n

The Endless helps us grow by giving us the Torah that has endless depth. The Zohar reveals some of it but we can never reach complete understanding. As we grow our vessel, we grow the ‘hunger’ for more and we can achieve more when putting a lot of efforts in the process of learning and following the Torah precepts.<\/p>\n

Rabbi Shimon isolated himself from the rest of the world to study and achieve higher level of understanding. The Holy Ari isolated himself for days without food, disconnecting from the corporeal world to expand his vessel and reveal more layers of understanding of the Zohar.
\nRabbi Ashlag merited to have a spark of the soul of the Holy Ari because he dedicated his life to the study of the Zohar and the writings of the Ari.<\/p>\n

This world and the spiritual system were designed for our benefits. We have plenty of opportunities in life to grow our vessels as big as we can so when we arrive to the Final Redemption and the Resurrection we are able to receive a greater portion of Light from the Endless.<\/p>\n
