50. אֲבָל קְחוּ שְׂעִיר עִזִּים לְחַטָּאת, לָמָּה? אֶלָּא מִשּׁוּם שֶׁהָיוּ מַקְרִיבִים רִאשׁוֹנָה לַשְּׂעִירִים, שֶׁשּׁוֹלְטִים עַל הֶהָרִים הָרָמִים. וְזֶהוּ לְחַטָּאת. וּצְרִיכִים לְהִטָּהֵר מֵאוֹתוֹ הַחֵטְא, וְלֹא עוֹד, אֶלָּא שֶׁצָּרִיךְ לְחִדּוּשׁ הַלְּבָנָה.
\n51. וְשׁוֹר וְאַיִל לִשְׁלָמִים, שׁוֹר וְלֹא פַּר, מִשּׁוּם שֶׁשּׁוֹר הוּא שָׁלֵם, לְהַרְאוֹת שָׁלוֹם, זֶהוּ שֶׁכָּתוּב לִשְׁלָמִים. רַבִּי יוֹסֵי אָמַר, שׁוֹר וְאַיִל מִצַּד הַשְּׂמֹאל הֵם בָּאִים. שׁוֹר מִצַּד הַשְּׂמֹאל, שֶׁכָּתוּב (יחזקאל א) וּפְנֵי שׁוֹר מֵהַשְּׂמֹאל. אַיִל, מִשּׁוּם אֵילוֹ שֶׁל יִצְחָק. וְעוֹלִים לִשְׁלָמִים, לְהַשְׁלִים אוֹתָם לִכְנֶסֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל, וְעַל כֵּן שׁוֹר וְאַיִל לִשְׁלָמִים.
\n52. אָמַר רַבִּי יְהוּדָה, הַכֹּל מִשּׁוּם שֶׁכְּנֶסֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל מִתְעַטֶּרֶת וּמִתְבָּרֶכֶת עַל יְדֵי הַכֹּהֵן בִּשְׁלֵמוּת. וְהַיּוֹם הַזֶּה הָיָה שִׂמְחָתָם שֶׁל כֻּלָּם, שִׂמְחָתָהּ שֶׁל כְּנֶסֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל עִם הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא, שִׂמְחַת הָעֶלְיוֹנִים וְהַתַּחְתּוֹנִים. וּכְמוֹ שֶׁהִשְׁתַּלֵּם הַכֹּהֵן לְמַטָּה, כִּבְיָכוֹל נִשְׁתַּלֵּם הַכֹּהֵן לְמַעְלָה. רַק שֶׁנָּדָב וַאֲבִיהוּ שֶׁעוֹרְרוּ עִרְבּוּבְיָה בֵּין הַגְּבִירָה וְהַמֶּלֶךְ. וּמִשּׁוּם כָּךְ – וַתֵּצֵא אֵשׁ מִלִּפְנֵי ה’ וַתֹּאכַל אֹתָם וְגוֹ’.<\/div>\n

\n“וְשׁוֹר וָאַיִל לִשְׁלָמִים, לִזְבֹּחַ לִפְנֵי יְהוָה, וּמִנְחָה, בְּלוּלָה בַשָּׁמֶן: כִּי הַיּוֹם, יְהוָה נִרְאָה אֲלֵיכֶם”
\n“and an ox and a ram for peace offerings, to sacrifice before YHVH<\/a>, and a grain offering mixed with oil; for today YHVH<\/a> will appear to you.’”
\nThe Ox and the Ram are the aspects of the Left and when they are offered on the Altar they support the unification of the Shechinah and the Light. It creates peace through the work of the Priest.
\nThe name of the portion is ‘Shemini’, which means “the eighth”. It was the eighth day after Moses initiated the Holy Tabernacle and served in it as the first High Priest. Now on the eighth day it was rosh Chodesh<\/a> Nisan, the head of all heads of the months. It was the most proper day to start the services and serve the people.
\nUnfortunately Nadav and Avihu<\/a> desired to make their own offering and corrupted the unification and peace that was achieved with the offering of Aaron. Because of that they had to die to stop the corrupted channel.
