46. וְאֵלָיו הוּא נֹשֵׂא אֶת נַפְשׁוֹ – זוֹ תְּפִלַּת עַרְבִית, שֶׁהִיא אֵמוּרִים וּפְדָרִים, שְׁיָרֵי קָרְבְּנוֹת הַיּוֹם. וְהֵם כְּמוֹ פֶּרֶט הַכֶּרֶם וּפְאַת שָׂדְךָ, שֶׁעֲלֵיהֶם נֶאֱמַר, שְׁיָרֵי מִצְוָה מְעַכְּבִים אֶת הַפֻּרְעָנוּת. Zohar Ki Tetze<\/strong>

\n‘and sets his heart on it’ is the aspect of the night prayer, ‘Arvit’. It was made to replace the light drawn from the offerings made in the Holy Temple, from the previous day. They connect the last day to the new day. When the sun set the day ends and the next day starts with darkness. The offerings from the previous day are still on the altar, consumed through the night. They keep the forces of the negative-side away from the holy.
\nWhen we continuously do positive actions, follow the Torah and the studies of the Zohar, we create a protection shield around us. It’s the aspect of the offering continuously burn on the altar to keep the other-side<\/a> away from us.
\nLeviticus 19:9<\/a>,10
\n“וּבְקֻצְרְכֶם אֶת קְצִיר אַרְצְכֶם לֹא תְכַלֶּה פְּאַת שָׂדְךָ לִקְצֹר וְלֶקֶט קְצִירְךָ לֹא תְלַקֵּט.”
\n“וְכַרְמְךָ לֹא תְעוֹלֵל וּפֶרֶט כַּרְמְךָ לֹא תְלַקֵּט לֶעָנִי וְלַגֵּר תַּעֲזֹב אֹתָם אֲנִי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם”
\n“’Now when you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap to the very corners of your field, nor shall you gather the gleanings of your harvest.”
\n“’Nor shall you glean your vineyard, nor shall you gather the fallen fruit of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the needy and for the stranger. I am YHVH<\/a> your God.”
\nThis precept instructs us to leave parts of our ‘fruits’ for the poor, allowing them to come and gather from the gifts God gave us. Like the fruit of the land grow by the grace of God, so does our income. It’s the same principal. The farmer knows that even if he does his best to prepare the land and plant seeds, it’s all in the hand of nature, which is the power God to bring better harvest. In our day job or business, God can make our source of income flourish or dry out. We can make is flourish if we follow the Torah and share it.
\nThis precept ends with “I am YHVH<\/a> your God” to tell us that doing this precept connects us directly to the fulfilment that comes directly from YHVH<\/a>.
\nWe should always be generous with sharing the gifts that we receive from God. By leaving the ‘the corners of the field’ to the poor, we build a wall to protect the continuation of our ‘fruitful’ field.
\nI suggest giving every week, especially on Fridays, even in smaller amounts. The act of giving every week expands our vessels to receive the greater Light of Shabbat. I am sure that those who do that see the difference and ‘fruitfulness’ in their lives.
