‘you are a mighty prince among us’ (Genesis 23:6<\/a>). The sons of Heth treated Abraham as elevated being. Rabbi Pinchas<\/a> explains that before a Tzadik leaves the world, a voice in the garden of Eden announces the coming of the Tzadik and ask to prepare for him a place among the other Tzadikim.
‘ in the choicest of our graves’ ‘במבחר קברינו’ is the aspect of selecting a place among the most righteous of them. The righteous soul is accepted and everyone is joyous to welcome another Tzadik into their level.

Genesis 23:13<\/a>
“וַיְדַבֵּר אֶל-עֶפְרוֹן בְּאָזְנֵי עַם-הָאָרֶץ, לֵאמֹר, אַךְ אִם-אַתָּה לוּ, שְׁמָעֵנִי: נָתַתִּי כֶּסֶף הַשָּׂדֶה, קַח מִמֶּנִּי, וְאֶקְבְּרָה אֶת-מֵתִי, שָׁמָּה”
“He spoke to Ephron in the hearing of the people of the land, saying, “If you will only please listen to me; I will give the price of the field, accept it from me that I may bury my dead there.”
The name Efron comes from the word for ‘dust’ of the earth. The Zohar says that the angel appointed to the graves is called ‘דומה’ ‘Duma<\/a>’. He announces the Tzadikim that come to be buried. He welcomes their souls and put their bodies to rest in peace and protection.

Rabbi Yeisa says that the angel Duma<\/a> was given the name Efron in the Torah because he is appointed on the dwellers of the dust. He’s responsible for the keeping the books that account for all the Tzadikim and those who conduct their lives according to the Torah. When the time comes he will brings the books to count for all the souls and connect them to the dew of life that will come down to resurrect the bodies back to life.
The name ‘Duma<\/a>’ ‘דומה’ also means ‘silent’ because he’s in a place where there’s silence.
