45. וְאָמַר, מַה בֵּין נְבוּאָה לַחֲלוֹם? נְבוּאָה בָּעוֹלָם הִיא שֶׁל זָכָר, וְהַחֲלוֹם בְּעוֹלַם הַנְּקֵבָה, וּמִזֶּה לָזֶה בְּשֵׁשׁ דְּרָגוֹת יוֹרֵד. הַנְּבוּאָה בְּיָמִין וּבִשְׂמֹאל, וְהַחֲלוֹם בִּשְׂמֹאל. וְהַחֲלוֹם נִפְרָד לְכַמָּה דְרָגוֹת לְמַטָּה, מִשּׁוּם כָּךְ הַחֲלוֹם הוּא בְּכָל הָעוֹלָם, אֲבָל כְּפִי דַרְגָּתוֹ. כָּךְ נִרְאֶה, כְּפִי הָאָדָם כָּךְ דַּרְגָּתוֹ, הַנְּבוּאָה אֵינָהּ מִתְפַּשֶּׁטֶת אֶלָּא בִּמְקוֹמָהּ.
\n46. בֹּא רְאֵה מַה כָּתוּב, וַיַּחֲלֹם וְהִנֵּה סֻלָּם מֻצָּב אַרְצָה וְרֹאשׁוֹ מַגִּיעַ הַשָּׁמָיְמָה וְהִנֵּה מַלְאֲכֵי אֱלֹהִים עֹלִים וְיֹרְדִים בּוֹ. פָּתַח וְאָמַר, (יחזקאל א) הָיֹה הָיָה דְבַר ה’ אֶל יְחֶזְקֵאל בֶּן בּוּזִי הַכֹּהֵן בְּאֶרֶץ כַּשְׂדִּים עַל נְהַר כְּבָר וַתְּהִי עָלָיו שָׁם יַד ה’. הָיֹה הָיָה – נְבוּאָה לְשָׁעָה הָיְתָה, שֶׁהִצְטָרְכָה עַל הַגָּלוּת מִשּׁוּם שֶׁהַשְּׁכִינָה יָרְדָה עִם יִשְׂרָאֵל לַגָּלוּת, וְרָאָה יְחֶזְקֵאל מַה שֶּׁרָאָה לְפִי שָׁעָה. וְאַף עַל גַּב שֶׁאוֹתוֹ הַמָּקוֹם לֹא רָאוּי לָזֶה, מִשּׁוּם כָּךְ הָיֹה הָיָה. מַה זֶּה הָיֹה הָיָה? אֶלָּא הָיֹה לְמַעְלָה – הָיָה לְמַטָּה, שֶׁכָּתוּב סֻלָּם מֻצָּב אַרְצָה וְרֹאשׁוֹ מַגִּיעַ הַשָּׁמָיְמָה. נוֹטֵל [אוֹתוֹ] לְמַעְלָה וְנוֹטֵל [אוֹתוֹ] לְמַטָּה. הָיֹה הָיָה – אֶחָד לְמַעְלָה וְאֶחָד לְמַטָּה.<\/div>\n

\nWhat’s between prophecy and dream?
\nProphecy is in the world of male, Zeir Anpin<\/a>. Dream is in the world of the female of Zeir Anpin<\/a>. There are six levels coming down from one level to the other. The prophecy is from Netzach<\/a> and Hod<\/a> of Zeir Anpin<\/a> and the dream is in Hod<\/a> of the female.
\nProphecy is on the Right and the Left, which is Netzach<\/a> and Hod<\/a> and the Dream is on the Left, which is Hod<\/a>. The angel Gabriel, aspect of Left, delivers the light of the dream and so the dream can be anywhere in the world. Every person sees dreams according to his level. Prophecy revealed only in the Holy Land of Israel<\/a>, where all the prophets receive their prophecies from Netzach<\/a> and Hod<\/a>.

\n“וַיַּחֲלֹם, וְהִנֵּה סֻלָּם מֻצָּב אַרְצָה, וְרֹאשׁוֹ, מַגִּיעַ הַשָּׁמָיְמָה; וְהִנֵּה מַלְאֲכֵי אֱלֹהִים, עֹלִים וְיֹרְדִים בּוֹ”
\n“He had a dream, and behold, a ladder was set on the earth with its top reaching to heaven; and behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.”
\nJacob’s dream was in the land of Israel<\/a> and to be exact it was exactly at the place where the Holy Temple would be built many years later.
\nEzekiel 1:3<\/a>
\n“הָיֹה הָיָה דְבַר יְהוָה אֶל יְחֶזְקֵאל בֶּן בּוּזִי הַכֹּהֵן בְּאֶרֶץ כַּשְׂדִּים עַל נְהַר כְּבָר וַתְּהִי עָלָיו שָׁם יַד יְהוָה”
\n“the word of YHVH<\/a> came expressly to Ezekiel the priest, son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and there the hand of YHVH<\/a> came upon him.”
\nThe Zohar explains that because the Israelites<\/a> in Exile had the Shechina with them and they needed spiritual support, Ezekiel could see visions of heavens and prophecise.
\nThe river Chevar in the verse represents one of the four rivers coming out of the Garden of Eden (Genesis 2:10<\/a>). Because of the river the Shechina could be there and Ezekiel could reveal the prophecies in exile with the Israelites<\/a>.<\/p>\n
