\n46. רַבִּי יְהוּדָה פָּתַח וְאָמַר, (משלי כח) אַשְׁרֵי אָדָם מְפַחֵד תָּמִיד וּמַקְשֶׁה לִבּוֹ יִפּוֹל בְּרָעָה. אַשְׁרֵיהֶם יִשְׂרָאֵל שֶׁהַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא הִתְרַצָּה בָהֶם וְנָתַן לָהֶם תּוֹרַת אֱמֶת כְּדֵי לִזְכּוֹת בָּהּ לְחַיֵּי עוֹלָם, שֶׁכָּל מִי שֶׁמִּשְׁתַּדֵּל בַּתּוֹרָה, הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא מוֹשֵׁךְ עָלָיו חַיִּים עֶלְיוֹנִים וּמַכְנִיסוֹ לְחַיֵּי הָעוֹלָם הַבָּא, שֶׁכָּתוּב (דברים ל) כִּי הִיא חַיֶּיךָ וְאֹרֶךְ יָמֶיךָ, וְכָתוּב (שם לב) וּבַדָּבָר הַזֶּה תַּאֲרִיכוּ יָמִים. חַיִּים בָּעוֹלָם הַזֶּה, וְחַיִּים בָּעוֹלָם הַבָּא.<\/div>\n

\nRabbi Shimon says that the prayer of many ascends and the Holy One Blessed be He puts it as a crown. This kind of prayer goes up through the three columns<\/a>, Chessed<\/a> on the Right column<\/a>, Gevurah<\/a> on the Left and Tiferet<\/a> in the middle. This ‘crown’ is set on the head of the Tzadik, which is Yessod<\/a> and open the gate of life from Zeir Anpin<\/a> to Malchut<\/a>, the female that needs that light for its sustenance. The female in this aspect is the congregation that came together for unified prayers.
\nThe prayer of the individual doesn’t have the same power as the prayer of the many because it can’t unify the three columns<\/a> as many.
\nAs central column, Jacob was included from the three columns<\/a> and that is why God wanted his prayers that could go up in a complete form, like the prayer of many.
\nGenesis 32:8<\/a>
\n“וַיִּירָא יַעֲקֹב מְאֹד, וַיֵּצֶר לוֹ; וַיַּחַץ אֶת-הָעָם אֲשֶׁר-אִתּוֹ, וְאֶת-הַצֹּאן וְאֶת-הַבָּקָר וְהַגְּמַלִּים–לִשְׁנֵי מַחֲנוֹת”
\n“Then Jacob was greatly afraid and distressed; and he divided the people who were with him, and the flocks and the herds and the camels, into two companies;”
\nAfter the messengers told Jacob that Esau is on his way with 400 men, Jacob was greatly afraid and distress. He was alone but he prepared himself for the event. In the following verses he prayed to God for his protection.
\nWe see that he started with implementing strategy to protect his family and then did his prayers. He didn’t rely on his merits (32:11 “I am not worthy…”) but also knew that only God can help him. (32:12 “Deliver me, I pray, from the hand of my brother”)

\nRabbi Yehuda opened and quoted Proverbs 28:14<\/a>
\n“אַשְׁרֵי אָדָם, מְפַחֵד תָּמִיד; וּמַקְשֶׁה לִבּוֹ, יִפּוֹל בְּרָעָה.”
\n“How blessed is the man who fears always, But he who hardens his heart will fall into calamity.”
\nThis verse teaches us to open our hearts with awe and fear of God for a pure connection to the Torah of truth that he gave us and by it achieve immortality.
\nThe next verse testifies to God’s promise to those who are holding fast to him.
\nDeuteronomy 30:20<\/a>
\n“לְאַהֲבָה אֶת-יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ, לִשְׁמֹעַ בְּקֹלוֹ וּלְדָבְקָה-בוֹ: כִּי הוּא חַיֶּיךָ, וְאֹרֶךְ יָמֶיךָ–לָשֶׁבֶת עַל-הָאֲדָמָה אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁבַּע יְהוָה לַאֲבֹתֶיךָ לְאַבְרָהָם לְיִצְחָק וּלְיַעֲקֹב, לָתֵת לָהֶם”
\n“by loving YHVH<\/a> your God, by obeying His voice, and by holding fast to Him; for he is your life and the length of your days, that you may live in the land which YHVH<\/a> swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”
\n“For he is your life” is the aspect of the benefits in this lifetime and “length of your days…in the Land” is the aspect of the world to come.
\nLessons:
\nThe only fear we should have is about losing our connection to God. The verse above from the King’s Solomon wisdom, tells us that those who harden their hearts fall into calamity. It’s easy to see nowadays how those without strong faith<\/a> in God, lose everything. The world is in a course toward calamity because leaders of nations and spiritual leaders are off the righteous path. God is coming to ‘clean the house’. Corruptions are discovered everywhere and dealt with. We see aspects of calamities even among those who lead spiritual communities in Israel<\/a> and the world. Trusted spiritual leaders chose to close their hearts to YHVH<\/a>, trusting the wealth they accumulated from generous believers who are now deeply disappointed. They fall because they lost the connection to the energy of Life that could sustain them in difficult times.
\nSave your soul by keeping your Zohar studies. Even if you followed spiritual leader that found to be corrupted, remember that they were not elected by God to represent him. They failed their mission\/opportunity to be servants of YHVH<\/a> in delivering the life force of the Torah those who chose to follow them. These corrupted leaders are no longer worthy of your tithe and Tzedakah until they are replaced by leader with pure heart. The Torah forbids us from wasting anything, especially your hard earned money provided to you from YHVH<\/a>. It could even bring judgment on the giver if they give tithe while knowing about the corruption.
