52. אָמַר רַבִּי יְהוּדָה, [נ”א רַבִּי יִצְחָק] [נ”א רַבִּי יוֹסֵי] קַל וָחֹמֶר, וּמַה כְּשֶׁנִּצַּל יַעֲקֹב מִלָּבָן כָּתוּב (בראשית לב) וְיַעֲקֹב הָלַךְ לְדַרְכּוֹ וַיִּפְגְּעוּ בוֹ מַלְאֲכֵי אֱלֹהִים – כְּשֶׁיָּרַד לַגָּלוּת וְהַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא אָמַר אָנֹכִי אֵרֵד עִמְּךָ מִצְרַיְמָה, אֵינוֹ דִין שֶׁהוֹאִיל וְהַפַּטְרוֹן יוֹרֵד, שֶׁיֵּרְדוּ גַּם שַׁמָּשָׁיו עִמּוֹ? הַיְנוּ שֶׁכָּתוּב הַבָּאִים מִצְרָיְמָה אֵת יַעֲקֹב. רַבִּי יַעֲקֹב מִכְּפַר חָנָן אָמַר מִשְּׁמוֹ שֶׁל רַבִּי אַבָּא, מִי הֵם בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל שֶׁל כָּאן? אוֹתָם שֶׁנִּקְרְאוּ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל מַמָּשׁ.
\n53. רַבִּי אַבָּא פָּתַח וְאָמַר, (תהלים מו) לְכוּ חֲזוּ מִפְעֲלוֹת יְיָ אֲשֶׁר שָׂם שַׁמּוֹת בָּאָרֶץ, אַל תִּקְרֵי שַׁמּוֹת אֶלָּא שֵׁמוֹת. וְהוֹלֵךְ זֶה כָּזֶה, שֶׁאָמַר רַבִּי חִיָּיא, כְּמוֹ בָּרָקִיעַ עָשָׂה הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא בָּאָרֶץ. בָּרָקִיעַ יֵשׁ שֵׁמוֹת קְדוֹשִׁים, וּבָאָרֶץ יֵשׁ שֵׁמוֹת קְדוֹשִׁים.<\/div>\n

\nAfter Jacob was saved from Lavan, his father in law, he met the angels of God.
\nGenesis 32:2<\/a>
\n“וְיַעֲקֹב הָלַךְ לְדַרְכּוֹ וַיִּפְגְּעוּ בוֹ מַלְאֲכֵי אֱלֹהִים.”
\n“Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him.”
\nThe angels of God here were from the name אלהים that is Left column<\/a>, judgment. There were different from the angels that came down to Egypt with Jacob because they came from the Right as God (YHVH<\/a>) told Jacob that he will come down with him.

\nPsalms 46:9<\/a>
\n“לְכוּ חֲזוּ מִפְעֲלוֹת יְהוָה אֲשֶׁר שָׂם שַׁמּוֹת בָּאָרֶץ.”
\n“Come, behold the works of YHVH<\/a>, how he has put desolations on the earth.”
\nThe word ‘שַׁמּוֹת’, means desolation but the Zohar says that the Nikud<\/a> (vowel) on the first letter ש should be different, Tzeirei, to read ‘שֵׁמוֹת’, which means “names”. The verse then would read ‘“Come, behold the works of YHVH<\/a>, how he has put names on the earth.”
\nThe Zohar explains that as there are holy names in heaven so there are holy names on earth and the names of the tribes are holy as it says;
\nExodus 1:1<\/a>
\n“וְאֵלֶּה, שְׁמוֹת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, הַבָּאִים, מִצְרָיְמָה: אֵת יַעֲקֹב, אִישׁ וּבֵיתוֹ בָּאוּ”
\n“Now these are the names of the sons of Israel<\/a> who came to Egypt with Jacob; they came each one with his household:”
\nGenesis 2:20<\/a>
\n“וַיִּקְרָא הָאָדָם שֵׁמוֹת לְכָל הַבְּהֵמָה וּלְעוֹף הַשָּׁמַיִם וּלְכֹל חַיַּת הַשָּׂדֶה”
\n“Then Adam gave names to all livestock and to the birds of the heavens and to every beast of the field.”
\nGod created all living things and gave Adam the power to name them and connect them to their soul and life force. Without names we have desolation.
