54. וְאֵיזוֹ שִׁירָה אוֹמְרִים? (תהלים צו) כִּי גָדוֹל ה’ וּמְהֻלָּל מְאֹד נוֹרָא הוּא עַל כָּל אֱלֹהִים. זֶה כְּשֶׁמַּעֲלִים אֶת כַּנְפֵיהֶם. וּבְשָׁעָה שֶׁפּוֹרְשִׂים אוֹתָן, אוֹמְרִים, כִּי כָּל אֱלֹהֵי הָעַמִּים אֱלִילִים וַה’ שָׁמַיִם עָשָׂה. כְּשֶׁמְּכַסִּים עַל הַכַּפֹּרֶת, אוֹמְרִים, לִפְנֵי ה’ כִּי בָא לִשְׁפֹּט הָאָרֶץ יִשְׁפֹּט תֵּבֵל בְּצֶדֶק, וְעַמִּים בְּמֵישָׁרִים.
\n55. וְקוֹלוֹתֵיהֶם הָיָה שׁוֹמֵעַ הַכֹּהֵן בַּמִּקְדָּשׁ, אָז שָׂם קְטֹרֶת בִּמְקוֹמָהּ, וּמִתְכַּוֵּן בַּמֶּה שֶׁמִּתְכַּוֵּן, כְּדֵי שֶׁיִּתְבָּרֵךְ הַכֹּל (וְקוֹלוֹתֵיהֶם). וְכַנְפֵי הַכְּרוּבִים עוֹלִים וְיוֹרְדִים, וְשָׁרִים שִׁירִים, מְכַסִּים לַכַּפֹּרֶת וּמַעֲלִים לָהֶם. זֶהוּ שֶׁכָּתוּב סֹכְכִים. סֹכְכִים דַּוְקָא. וּמִנַּיִן לָנוּ שֶׁקּוֹלוֹתֵיהֶם נִשְׁמָעִים? כְּמוֹ שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר (יחזקאל א) וָאֶשְׁמַע אֶת קוֹל וְגוֹ’.

\nWhen the Shechina comes down on the Kaporet the Cherubim spread their wings and singing the words from Psalms.
\nWhen they raised their wings that was the aspect of the Right column<\/a> of Chessed<\/a> they sang Psalms 96:4<\/a>
\n“כִּי גָדוֹל יְהוָה וּמְהֻלָּל מְאֹד; נוֹרָא הוּא, עַל-כָּל-אֱלֹהִים”
\n“For great is YHVH<\/a> and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods.”
\nThen they spread their wings for the Left column<\/a>, Gevurah<\/a>, singing;
\nPsalms 96:5<\/a>
\n“כִּי, כָּל-אֱלֹהֵי הָעַמִּים אֱלִילִים; וַיהוָה, שָׁמַיִם עָשָׂה”
\n“For all the gods of other nations are idols, But YHVH<\/a> made the heavens.”
\nWhen the Cherubim covered the Kaporet with their wings for the aspect of the Central column they sang;
\nPsalms 98:9<\/a>
\n“לִפְנֵי יְהוָה כִּי בָא, לִשְׁפֹּט הָאָרֶץ יִשְׁפֹּט-תֵּבֵל בְּצֶדֶק וְעַמִּים, בְּמֵישָׁרִים”
\n“Before YHVH<\/a>, for He is coming to judge the earth; He will judge the world with righteousness And the nations with fairness.”
\nThe central column is called justice and righteousness.

\nEzekiel 1:24<\/a>
\n“וָאֶשְׁמַע אֶת קוֹל כַּנְפֵיהֶם כְּקוֹל מַיִם רַבִּים כְּקוֹל שַׁדַּי בְּלֶכְתָּם קוֹל הֲמֻלָּה כְּקוֹל מַחֲנֶה בְּעָמְדָם תְּרַפֶּינָה כַנְפֵיהֶן”
\n“I also heard the sound of their wings like the sound of abundant waters as they went, like the voice of the Almighty, a sound of tumult like the sound of an army camp; whenever they stood still, they dropped their wings.”
\nThe high priest was hearing their singing and place the ketoret<\/a> in its place with special meditations to draw blessings for all.

\n‘He will judge the world with righteousness’, the world judged here is the aspect of Zeir Anpin<\/a>. ‘Righteousness’ is Malchut<\/a>. The Cherubim represent the aspect of the angels Metat— and Sandal— . The Shechina comes down on the Kaporet and with the Cherubim bring the aspect of ‘And the nations with fairness’.
