58. וּמָה הָאָרֶץ הַשְּׁמֵנָה הִיא אִם רָזָה. מֵהַתּוֹרָה תֵּדְעוּ מָה הָאָרֶץ, מָה אוֹתוֹ עוֹלָם, אִם מַרְבֶּה טוֹבָה עֶלְיוֹנָה לְיוֹשְׁבֶיהָ, אוֹ אִם מַמְעִיט מִמֶּנּוּ כְּלוּם. הֲיֶשׁ בָּהּ עֵץ אִם אַיִן. הֲיֶשׁ בָּהּ עֵץ הַחַיִּים לְעוֹלָם וּלְעוֹלְמֵי עוֹלָמִים, אוֹ שֶׁצְּרוֹר הַחַיִּים נִמְצָא בְתוֹכָהּ, אִם לֹא.
\n59. וַיַּעֲלוּ בַנֶּגֶב וַיָּבֹא עַד חֶבְרוֹן. וַיַּעֲלוּ בַנֶּגֶב, בְּנֵי אָדָם נִכְנָסִים לְתוֹכָהּ בַּנֶּגֶב, בְּלֵב עָצֵל, כְּמִי שֶׁמִּשְׁתַּדֵּל בְּחִנָּם, בְּיֹבֶשׁ, שֶׁחוֹשֵׁב שֶׁאֵין בָּהּ שָׂכָר. רוֹאֶה שֶׁעֹשֶׁר הָעוֹלָם הַזֶּה אָבַד בִּגְלָלָהּ, חוֹשֵׁב שֶׁהוּא הַכֹּל. בַּנֶּגֶב, כְּמוֹ שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר (בראשית ח) חָרְבוּ הַמַּיִם, וּמְתַרְגְּמִים נְגִיבוּ.
\n60. אַחַר כָּךְ – וַיָּבֹא עַד חֶבְרוֹן. עַד שֶׁבָּא לְהִתְחַבֵּר בָּהּ, קוֹרֵא וְשׁוֹנֶה בָּהּ. וְשָׁם אֲחִימָן שֵׁשַׁי וְתַלְמַי, שָׁם רוֹאֶה פִלּוּגִים רַבִּים, טָמֵא וְטָהוֹר, אָסוּר וּמֻתָּר, (כָּשֵׁר וּפָסוּל) עֳנָשִׁים וּשְׂכָרִים. אֵלֶּה אוֹתָם דַּרְכֵי הַתּוֹרָה, דִּקְדּוּקֵי הַתּוֹרָה. יְלִידֵי הָעֲנָק, שֶׁנּוֹלְדוּ מִצַּד הַגְּבוּרָה.<\/div>\n

\n“וּרְאִיתֶם אֶת הָאָרֶץ מַה הִוא וְאֶת הָעָם הַיֹּשֵׁב עָלֶיהָ הֶחָזָק הוּא הֲרָפֶה הַמְעַט הוּא אִם רָב”
\n“See what the land is like, and whether the people who live in it are strong or weak, whether they are few or many.”
\nWhen you tour the Land you can see if those who study the Torah, day and night, overcome their evil inclination and became strong or if they are weak and let go of the Torah.
\n‘whether they are few or many’ is a suggestion to check if there many people that study the Torah and if they have merits or not.

\n“וּמָה הָאָרֶץ הַשְּׁמֵנָה הִוא אִם-רָזָה, הֲיֵשׁ-בָּהּ עֵץ אִם-אַיִן, וְהִתְחַזַּקְתֶּם, וּלְקַחְתֶּם מִפְּרִי הָאָרֶץ; וְהַיָּמִים–יְמֵי, בִּכּוּרֵי עֲנָבִים”
\n“How is the land, is it fat or lean? Is there a tree in it or not? Make an effort then to get some of the fruit of the land.” Now the time was the time of the first ripe grapes.”
\nWhat’s the value of the Land? Is it full of nourishments from the supernal<\/a> world or not?
\n‘Is there a tree in it or not?’ refers to the question if the land connected to the Tree of Life<\/a> with a channel to the Life force from Yessod<\/a> or not?

\n“וַיַּעֲלוּ בַנֶּגֶב, וַיָּבֹא עַד-חֶבְרוֹן, וְשָׁם אֲחִימַן שֵׁשַׁי וְתַלְמַי, יְלִידֵי הָעֲנָק; וְחֶבְרוֹן, שֶׁבַע שָׁנִים נִבְנְתָה, לִפְנֵי, צֹעַן מִצְרָיִם”
\n“When they had gone up into the Negev, and he came to Hebron where Ahiman, Sheshai and Talmai, the descendants of Anak were. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)”
\nThe ‘Negev’ is the desert region in the land of Israel<\/a>. There are those who follow the Torah without the faith<\/a> that the Torah is fruitful and rewarding. They think of the Torah is in the aspect of ‘Negev’, meaning dry and without rewards.

\nThe word ‘Hebron’, ‘חברון’ has the root ‘חבר’ that means ‘connection’, ‘adding one to another’.
\n‘and he comes to Hebron’ is the aspect of those who come to the Torah and connect to it with reading and studying.
\n‘where Ahiman, Sheshai and Talmai’. The student of Torah finds opposites of pure and impure, permitted and forbidden, rewards and punishment. These are the ways of the Torah to bring us to study and understand the deeper meaning of each precept.
\n‘the descendants of Anak’, Is those who were born from the side of Gevurah<\/a> and study to find the exact meaning of everything and look for evidence to support the ways of the Torah.
\n‘Ahiman’, the first three letters, ‘אחי’ from the root ‘אח’, that means ‘to see’ and the last two letters, ‘מן’ means ‘counting’,’מנין’. The Torah student looks to find all that is related the his studies.
\n‘Sheshai’ has the root of ‘שש’ that means happiness that is the reward for the study of Torah.
\n‘Talmai’, ‘תלמי’ is from the root ‘תלם’ that means a ‘furrow’ in the ground. This name represents those who study the two sides of the Torah, like pure and impure etc.
