58. כּוֹס עַל דֶּרֶךְ הַחָכְמָה הוּא אֱלֹהִים, וְהוּא (מָלֵא בְּיָ”הּ וְהֵם) וְכָאן שָׁלֵם. כֹּ”ס בְּלִי ו’, כְּמוֹ כֵּס, שֶׁהוּא פָּגוּם וְחָסֵר בְּלֹא אָלֶף, כֵּן הוּא חָסֵר בְּלִי וָי”ו, וְהוּא פָּגוּם. הַכִּסֵּ”א כֵּן עוֹלֶה בְגִימַטְרִיָּא כּוֹס.
\n59. כּוֹס הִיא הֵ”א, וְצָרִיךְ עֲשָׂרָה דְבָרִים כְּנֶגֶד י’, וְהֵם: עִטּוּ”ר בְּסוֹד הָעֲטָרָה, עֲטֶרֶת תִּפְאֶרֶת. וְזֶהוּ סוֹד עִטּוּר שֶׁאָמְרוּ זִכְרוֹנָם לִבְרָכָה, מְעַטְּרוֹ בְתַלְמִידִים, וְהִיא עֲטֶרֶת הַבְּרִית. עִטּוּ”ף, (תהלים קב) תְּפִלָּה לְעָנִי כִי יַעֲטֹף. שֶׁכָּל הַבְּרָכוֹת וְהַתְּפִלּוֹת מִתְעַטְּפִים עַד שֶׁתַּעֲלֶה תְפִלַּת הֶעָנִי.
\n60. הֲדָחָ”ה וּשְׁטִיפָ”ה, כְּמוֹ (ויקרא טז) וְטִהֲרוֹ וְקִדְּשׁוֹ. הַטָּהֳרָה מִימִין הַחֶסֶד, וְהַקְּדֻשָּׁה מִשְּׂמֹאל הַגְּבוּרָה. כּוֹס שֶׁל בְּרָכָה מַלְכוּת, מִצַּד בִּינָה הַנִּקְרֵאת אֱלֹהִים. וְנִקְרָא עֲטָרָה מִצַּד הַכֶּתֶר. חַ”י מִצַּד יְסוֹד הַנִּקְרָא שָׁלוֹם, שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר (ישעיה נד) וּבְרִיתִי שְׁלוֹמִי לֹא תָמוּט אָמַר מְרַחֲמֵךְ ה’. מָלֵא מִצַּד תִּפְאֶרֶת. מְקַבְּלוֹ בִּשְׁתֵּי יָדָיו, ה’ ה’.<\/div>\n

\n‘Cup’, ‘כוס’, is a vessel, representing Malchut<\/a> and numerically 86, same as ‘אלהים’, ‘ELHYM’. The wine represents the light of Chokmah<\/a> and Binah<\/a>, ‘יה’ from the יהוה YHVH<\/a> name, that we draw with the Kiddush blessing to the wine.
\nWithout the יה YH, the name אלהים becomes אלם that means ‘mute’ to represent Malchut<\/a> without light.
\nThe word ‘cup’ ‘כוס’ without the middle letter ו , Vav, becomes כס that means ‘a seat’, representing Malchut<\/a>. When adding the letter ’א’ Alef we have ‘הכסא’, ‘the chair’. It has the numerical value of 86, אלהים, ELHYM.

\nThe cup is the aspect of Malchut<\/a> and represents the lower H ה of the יהוה YHVH<\/a> name. We need ten things for this cup connection to multiply with 5 for the ה H to get 50 to draw the light of Binah<\/a>.
\nThe ten things related to the cup are:
\n1. Crown, decorate<\/strong>
\nThis that aspect of the ‘crown’ ‘עטרה’ of the covenant that unifies Yessod<\/a> and Malchut<\/a>. Also ‘decorate’ with the spiritual light of Torah scholars.
\n2. Wrap<\/strong>
\nFor the prayers that wrap the blessings until the prayer of the poor is elevated.

\n3. Washed from the inside<\/strong>
\n4. Rinsed from the outside<\/strong>
\nWe wash the inside for purification that is from the Right of Chessed<\/a>. Sanctification is from the Left that is Gevurah<\/a>. The cup of the blessing is Malchut<\/a> and from the aspect of Binah<\/a>, it is called ‘אלהים’. ‘ELHYM’.
\nThe decoration, ‘crown’ gives the aspect of Keter<\/a>.
\n5. Live <\/strong>(חי) wine (from the barrel). The wine should be pure and not blend with water in the barrel. We may add a little water in the cup before the blessing to adjust its strength.
\n‘Live’ is ‘חי’ from Yessod<\/a> and it’s also called ‘Shalom’, ‘Peace’. Yessod<\/a> is the aspect of the covenant that brings the blessing of peace.
\nIsaiah 54:10<\/a>
\n“כִּי הֶהָרִים יָמוּשׁוּ וְהַגְּבָעוֹת תְּמוּטֶנָה וְחַסְדִּי מֵאִתֵּךְ לֹא יָמוּשׁ וּבְרִית שְׁלוֹמִי לֹא תָמוּט אָמַר מְרַחֲמֵךְ יְהוָה”
\n“For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, But My loving kindness will not be removed from you, And My covenant of peace will not be shaken,” Says YHVH<\/a> who has compassion on you.”
\n‘My covenant of peace will not be shaken’ means that from Yessod<\/a>, Malchut<\/a> is called חי, ‘Life’
\n6. Full cup<\/strong> – is the aspect of Tiferet<\/a> that includes Chessed<\/a> and Gevurah<\/a> and considered as full.
\n7. Received with two hands and pass it to the right hand<\/strong>. The two hands with five fingers each represent the two H(5)ה H(5)ה of the name. One is Binah<\/a> for the Right and one for Malchut<\/a>, Left.
