\n63. בִּרְכַּת הַמָּזוֹן מִן הַתּוֹרָה מִנַּיִן? שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר (דברים ח) וְאָכַלְתָּ וְשָׂבָעְתָּ וְגוֹ’. וְשָׁנִינוּ בַּבָּרַיְתָא, וּבֵרַכְתָּ – זוֹ בִּרְכַּת הַזָּן. אֶת ה’ אֱלֹהֶיךָ – זוֹ בִּרְכַּת הַמָּזוֹן. עַל הָאָרֶץ – זוֹ בִּרְכַּת הָאָרֶץ. הַטֹּבָה – זוֹ בּוֹנֵה יְרוּשָׁלָיִם. וְכֵן הוּא אוֹמֵר, (שם ג) הָהָר הַטּוֹב הַזֶּה וְהַלְּבָנוֹן. אֵין לִי אֶלָּא לְאַחֲרָיו. לְפָנָיו מִנַּיִן? שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר אֲשֶׁר נָתַן לָךְ. מִשָּׁעָה שֶׁנָּתַן לָךְ, חַיָּב אַתָּה לְבָרְכוֹ.<\/div>\n

\n8. Raised from the surface.
\nThe surface is Malchut<\/a> הH and raising the cup is the aspect of the letter Yod י, that is above the baseline of the letters and elevates to Binah<\/a>.
\n9. Looking into the cup. This is the secret of the unification of YHVH<\/a> and ADNY יאהדונהי. The mediation is to have YHVH<\/a>, Zeir Anpin<\/a> shines light into the pupil of the eye that is the aspect of ADNY אדני. The light is the YHVH<\/a> name shines through the colors of the eye, white, red and green that represent Chessed<\/a>, Gevurah<\/a> and Tiferet<\/a> of Zeir Anpin<\/a>. ADNY is in the eyelids, the pupils and the eye lashes.
\n10. ‘Broadcast’ the light as a gift to the people in his house. This is the light of Binah<\/a> that is channeled through the kiddush blessing to the people around the table.

\nThe tenth thing to do with the Shabbat meal is the grace after the meal, ‘Birkat Hamazon<\/a>’. When three people eat together they need a cup of wine to accompany the blessings. In this special grace we refer to the blessings that the three patriarchs receive from God.
\n“—just as our forefathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob were blessed in everything, from everything, with everything. So may he bless us all together with a perfect blessing”

\nAbraham – Chessed<\/a> – “בכל” “blessed in everything”

\n“Now Abraham was old, advanced in age; and the LORD had blessed Abraham in every way.”
\nIsaac – Gevura<\/a> – “מכל” “from everything”
\nGenesis 27:33<\/a>
\n“וַיָּבֵא לִי וָאֹכַל מִכֹּל בְּטֶרֶם תָּבוֹא וָאֲבָרֲכֵהוּ גַּם בָּרוּךְ יִהְיֶה”
\n“and brought it to me, so that I ate of all of it before you came, and blessed him? Yes, and he shall be blessed”

\nThe grace after the meal is from the Torah
\nDeuteronomy 8:10<\/a>
\n“וְאָכַלְתָּ וְשָׂבָעְתָּ וּבֵרַכְתָּ אֶת יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ עַל הָאָרֶץ הַטֹּבָה אֲשֶׁר נָתַן לָךְ”
\n“And you shall eat and be satisfied, and you shall bless YHVH<\/a> your God for the good land he has given you.”
\n“the good land he has given you” is to have the first blessing of “Hamotzi..” that was made to give thanks and appreciate the food we are about to eat.
\n“and you shall bless” is for the first blessing of “Hamotzi Lechem…”
\n“YHVH<\/a> your God…” for the second blessings
\n“for the land…” (from the grace of the meal) is for the third blessing.
\nThe fourth blessing of Birkat Hamazon<\/a> was added by the sages to commemorate a miracle made by God for the Israelites<\/a> in the Holy Land.
