62. וַתָּמָת שָׂרָה בְּקִרְיַת אַרְבַּע. רַבִּי אַבָּא אָמַר, כְּמוֹ זֶה לֹא הָיוּ בְּכָל נְשׁוֹת הָעוֹלָם, שֶׁהֲרֵי נֶאֱמַר חֶשְׁבּוֹן יָמֶיהָ וּשְׁנוֹתֶיהָ וְקִיּוּמָהּ בָּעוֹלָם וְאוֹתוֹ הַמָּקוֹם שֶׁבּוֹ הִיא נִקְבְּרָה. אֶלָּא לְהַרְאוֹת שֶׁלֹּא הָיְתָה כְּמוֹ שָׂרָה בְּכָל נְשׁוֹת הָעוֹלָם.
\n63. וְאִם תֹּאמַר הִנֵּה מִרְיָם, שֶׁכָּתוּב (במדבר כ) וַתָּמָת שָׁם מִרְיָם וַתִּקָּבֵר שָׁם – זֶה בָּא לְהַרְאוֹת אֶת סִרְחוֹנָם שֶׁל יִשְׂרָאֵל, שֶׁהֲרֵי הַמַּיִם לֹא הָלְכוּ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל אֶלָּא בִּזְכוּת מִרְיָם. אֲבָל לֹא נֶאֱמַר בְּמִיתָתָהּ כְּמוֹ שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר בְּשָׂרָה.
\n64. רַבִּי יְהוּדָה פָּתַח, (קהלת י) אַשְׁרֵיךְ אֶרֶץ שֶׁמַּלְכֵּךְ בֶּן חוֹרִים וְשָׂרַיִךְ בָּעֵת יֹאכֵלוּ. הַפָּסוּק הַזֶּה בֵּאֲרוּהוּ הַחֲבֵרִים, אֲבָל יֵשׁ לָנוּ לְהִסְתַּכֵּל בּוֹ, שֶׁאַשְׁרֵיהֶם יִשְׂרָאֵל שֶׁהַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא נָתַן לָהֶם תּוֹרָה לָדַעַת כָּל הַדְּרָכִים הַנִּסְתָּרוֹת וּלְגַלּוֹת לָהֶם סוֹדוֹת עֶלְיוֹנִים, וַהֲרֵי זֶה נִתְבָּאֵר.<\/div>\n

\n” וַתָּמָת שָׂרָה בְּקִרְיַת אַרְבַּע הִוא חֶבְרוֹן בְּאֶרֶץ כְּנָעַן וַיָּבֹא אַבְרָהָם לִסְפֹּד לְשָׂרָה וְלִבְכֹּתָהּ”
\n“And Sarah died at Kiriath-arba (that is, Hebron) in the land of Canaan, and Abraham went in to mourn for Sarah and to weep for her.”
\nThe Torah gives Sarah special status by specifying the count of her years and the place she was buried. The Zohar says that it was done to tell that there was no woman like Sarah in the entire world. The same status was not given to any other woman in the Bible.

\nThe death and place of Miriam was mentioned in the Torah but not the days and years. The Zohar explains that her death is mentioned because of the inequities of the people that caused them to lose the water. A well of water was following them in the wilderness because of the merits of Miriam but then it’s gone.

\n“וְלֹא הָיָה מַיִם לָעֵדָה וַיִּקָּהֲלוּ עַל מֹשֶׁה וְעַל אַהֲרֹן”
\n“Now there was no water for the congregation. And they assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron.”

\nThe Zohar praises the children of Israel<\/a> that the Holy One Blessed be He gave them the Torah. From it they can learn the concealed path of the spiritual system and reveal supernal<\/a> secrets.
