72. כָּל יְמֵי חַיֵי הֶבְלֶךָ, מִשּׁוּם שֶׁהִיא נִקְשֶׁרֶת בַּחַיִּים, וְהִיא הָעוֹלָם שֶׁשּׁוֹרִים בָּהּ חַיִּים. שֶׁהֲרֵי הָעוֹלָם הַזֶּה לֹא שׁוֹרִים בּוֹ חַיִּים, מִשּׁוּם שֶׁהֵם תַּחַת הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ, וְלֹא מַגִּיעִים לְכָאן אוֹתָם הָאוֹרוֹת שֶׁל אוֹתָהּ הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ, וְהִסְתַּלְּקוּ מֵהָעוֹלָם מִיּוֹם שֶׁנֶּחֱרַב בֵּית הַמִּקְדָּשׁ, שֶׁכָּתוּב (ישעיה יג) חָשַׁךְ הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ בְּצֵאתוֹ וְגוֹ’. מַה זֶּה חָשַׁךְ הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ? שֶׁסִּלֵּק אֶת אוֹרוֹ וְלֹא מֵאִיר, כְּמוֹ שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר (שם נז) הַצַּדִּיק אָבָד וְגוֹ’.
\n73. כִּי הוּא חֶלְקְךָ בַּחַיִּים – זֶהוּ הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ עִם הַלְּבָנָה. וּצְרִיכִים לְהַכְנִיס הַלְּבָנָה בַּשֶּׁמֶשׁ וְהַשֶּׁמֶשׁ בַּלְּבָנָה שֶׁלֹּא לְהַפְרִידָם, וְזֶה הוּא חֵלֶק הָאָדָם לְהִכָּנֵס עִמָּם לָעוֹלָם הַבָּא.

\n‘all the days of your vain life’ (From #69) is the aspect of Malchut<\/a> connected to Binah<\/a> and receive the light of Life from Binah<\/a>. This world is female, Malchut<\/a>, that doesn’t have life of its own unless she receives from the upper female that is Binah<\/a>.
\nIsaiah 13:10<\/a>
\n“כִּי כוֹכְבֵי הַשָּׁמַיִם וּכְסִילֵיהֶם לֹא יָהֵלּוּ אוֹרָם חָשַׁךְ הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ בְּצֵאתוֹ וְיָרֵחַ לֹא יַגִּיהַ אוֹרוֹ”
\n“For the stars of the heavens and their constellations will not give their light; the sun will be dark at its rising, and the moon will not shed its light.”
\nThe sun is the aspect of Zeir Anpin<\/a> and after the destruction of the Holy Temple, the sun became ‘dark’ and stopped delivering light to the world.
\n‘Vain life’ is life in Malchut<\/a> under the Sun that became dark when the Holy Temple was no longer serving the world as the gate of Yessod<\/a> to bring down the light from Binah<\/a> to this world. .

\n‘that is your portion in life’ is the aspect of the unification of the Light, Zeir Anpin<\/a>, the Sun and Malchut<\/a>, the moon.
\n‘Your portion’ is the vessel, Malchut<\/a> and ‘in life’ is the Life force that comes from Zeir Anpin<\/a>. Our ‘portion’ is the duty to make unifications of vessel and light in order to earn merits for the world to come.

\n“כֹּל אֲשֶׁר תִּמְצָא יָדְךָ, לַעֲשׂוֹת בְּכֹחֲךָ–עֲשֵׂה: כִּי אֵין מַעֲשֶׂה וְחֶשְׁבּוֹן, וְדַעַת וְחָכְמָה, בִּשְׁאוֹל, אֲשֶׁר אַתָּה הֹלֵךְ שָׁמָּה”
\n“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might; for there is no activity or planning or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol where you are going.”
\nEcclesiastes teaches us that we should do all that we can to earn the light because after death we go to a place ‘Sheol’ where we no longer have opportunity to act positively and earn light for the world to come.
\nLesson;
\nThis world is the only place where we find opportunities to ‘work’ and do our best to improve our souls. When we do that, we benefit in this world and the world to come.
