\n“אָנֹכִי אֵרֵד עִמְּךָ מִצְרַיְמָה וְאָנֹכִי אַעַלְךָ גַם עָלֹה וְיוֹסֵף יָשִׁית יָדוֹ עַל עֵינֶיךָ”
\n“”I will go down with you to Egypt, and I will also surely bring you up again; and Joseph<\/a> will close your eyes.””
\nRabbi Chiya was riding a donkey on his way from Usha to Lod and Rabbi Yosei was with him. He got off the donkey and told Rabbi Yosei; if the people of the world knew the great honor of Jacob that was revealed when God told him ”I will go down with you to Egypt”, they would lick the ground that surrounds his grave within a radius of about 12 kilometers.
\nExodus 18:7<\/a>
\n“וַיֵּצֵא מֹשֶׁה לִקְרַאת חֹתְנוֹ וַיִּשְׁתַּחוּ וַיִּשַּׁק לוֹ וַיִּשְׁאֲלוּ אִישׁ לְרֵעֵהוּ לְשָׁלוֹם וַיָּבֹאוּ הָאֹהֱלָה”
\n“Then Moses went out to meet his father-in-law, and he bowed down and kissed him; and they asked each other of their welfare and went into the tent.”
\nThe Zohar explains that all the people followed Moses when they saw him going out to welcome his father in-law, Jethro. That included Aaron, the elders and the heads of the tribes. If this was the case with Moses then when God came down to Egypt with Jacob, all God’s entourage followed.
\nLesson;
\nWhen we lead our lives with Light, we have the support of angels around us. Moses is the aspect of the Torah that we should study and follow. Jacob is Zeir Anpin<\/a>, center column<\/a> that is also aspect of the Torah. Zeir Anpin<\/a> also represents YHVH<\/a> that represents the Light of the Endless that is revealed to us in Malchut<\/a> through Z”A.
\nJethro was a high priest of the other-side<\/a> but when he realized the power of YHVH<\/a>, he came to Moses to connect to the pure system of YHVH<\/a>. He saw the Light and followed it.
