63. רַבִּי אַבָּא אָמַר, אִתִּי מִלְּבָנוֹן כַּלָּה וְגוֹ’, וְכִי מִלְּבָנוֹן בָּאָה, וַהֲלֹא לִלְבָנוֹן עוֹלָה? אֶלָּא, אָמַר רַבִּי אַבָּא, בְּשָׁעָה שֶׁיָּרְדָה שְׁכִינָה לְמִצְרַיִם, יָרְדוּ עִמָּהּ שִׁשִּׁים רִבּוֹא שֶׁל מַלְאֲכֵי הַשָּׁרֵת, וְהַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא בָּרִאשׁוֹנָה. זֶהוּ שֶׁכָּתוּב וַיַּעֲבֹר מַלְכָּם לִפְנֵיהֶם וַה’ בְּרֹאשָׁם.

\n“אִתִּי מִלְּבָנוֹן כַּלָּה אִתִּי מִלְּבָנוֹן תָּבוֹאִי תָּשׁוּרִי מֵרֹאשׁ אֲמָנָה מֵרֹאשׁ שְׂנִיר וְחֶרְמוֹן מִמְּעֹנוֹת אֲרָיוֹת מֵהַרְרֵי נְמֵרִים”
\n“Come with me from Lebanon, my bride, May you come with me from Lebanon. Journey down from the head\/summit of Amana, From the summit of Senir and Hermon, From the dens of lions, From the mountains of leopards.”
\nLebanon is the aspect of the Holy Temple and Rabbi Aba says that going to Lebanon is elevation and the verse says, ‘Come from Lebanon, my bride’, an invitation that has the opposite aspect.
\nWhen the Shechina came down to Egypt 60 thousand angels came down with her and YHVH<\/a> was leading as it says;
\nMicha 2:13<\/a>
\n“וַיַּעֲבֹר מַלְכָּם לִפְנֵיהֶם וַיהוָה בְּרֹאשָׁם”
\n“And their king goes on before them, And YHVH<\/a> at their head.”

\nThe ‘bride’ from Lebanon is the Shechina from the Holy Temple. The Zohar tells us that the Shechina never moved from the Western Wall of the Holy Temple. Also known as ‘the Kotel’. It is the ‘head\/summit of Amana’
\nSongs 2:9<\/a>
\n“דּוֹמֶה דוֹדִי לִצְבִי אוֹ לְעֹפֶר הָאַיָּלִים הִנֵּה זֶה עוֹמֵד אַחַר כָּתְלֵנוּ מַשְׁגִּיחַ מִן הַחֲלֹּנוֹת מֵצִיץ מִן הַחֲרַכִּים”
\n“”My beloved is like a gazelle or a young stag. Behold, he is standing behind our wall, He is looking through the windows, He is peering through the lattice.”
\n‘He is standing behind our wall’ and looking after us wherever we are to protect us.
\nLesson;
\nThe western Wall is called ‘The Kotel’. ‘Kotel’ means ‘Wall’ and when we say ‘The Kotel’, it always refers to the Western Wall of the Holy Temple.
\nThe West is the direction of Yessod<\/a> that connects Zeir Anpin<\/a> to Malchut<\/a>. Because of that, the Western Wall must exist until it is replaced by the third and everlasting Holy Temple. The sustenance of the entire world came from the Holy Temple in Jerusalem<\/a> and now it comes from what left of it.
\nThe Kotel is a holy place and we’re not allowed to touch it with bare hands. It is holy as a Torah Scroll that we are not allowed to touch it directly. We use the Talit to touch and kiss the Torah. The Kotel should be treated the same because the Shechina dwells there to provide for us.
\nWhen a person comes first to Israel<\/a>, he should visit the Kotel first to initiate the connecting of his soul to its roots. Also better to go and pray there before visiting the sites of Tzadikim. The Tzadikim are happy when one comes to visit them with the Shechina.
