65. וַיְדַבֵּר מֹשֶׁה כֵּן אֶל בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְלֹא שָׁמְעוּ אֶל מֹשֶׁה מִקֹּצֶר רוּחַ. מַה זֶּה מִקֹּצֶר רוּחַ? אָמַר רַבִּי יְהוּדָה, שֶׁלֹּא הָיוּ נָחִים וְלֹא הָיוּ אוֹסְפִים לְתוֹכָם רוּחַ. אָמַר רַבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן, מִקֹּצֶר רוּחַ – שֶׁעֲדַיִן לֹא יָצָא יוֹבֵל לָתֵת לָהֶם מְנוּחָה. וְרוּחַ אַחֲרוֹנָה עֲדַיִן לֹא שָׁלְטָה לַעֲשׂוֹת מִנְהָגָם, וְאָז הָיוּ בְּצָרוֹת שֶׁל רוּחַ, מוּעָקָה שֶׁל רוּחַ. מִיהוּ? רוּחַ אַחֲרוֹנָה, כְּמוֹ שֶׁאָמַרְנוּ. \nExodus 6:9<\/a>
\n“וַיְדַבֵּר מֹשֶׁה כֵּן אֶל בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְלֹא שָׁמְעוּ אֶל מֹשֶׁה מִקֹּצֶר רוּחַ וּמֵעֲבֹדָה קָשָׁה”
\n“So Moses spoke thus to the sons of Israel<\/a>, but they did not listen to Moses on account of their despondency and cruel bondage.”
\nThe Zohar asks; what is ‘on account of their despondency’?. Rabbi Yehuda explains that they didn’t have a rest from work to gather and elevate enough of their spirit (Ruach<\/a>). Rabbi Shimon says that it means that the level of Binah<\/a> was not revealed yet in the world to give them rest and freedom. The level of Ruach<\/a> in Malchut<\/a> was not present to allow them connection to higher level and draw the Light they needed.

\nExodus 6:12<\/a>
\n“וַיְדַבֵּר מֹשֶׁה, לִפְנֵי יְהוָה לֵאמֹר: הֵן בְּנֵי-יִשְׂרָאֵל, לֹא-שָׁמְעוּ אֵלַי, וְאֵיךְ יִשְׁמָעֵנִי פַרְעֹה, וַאֲנִי עֲרַל שְׂפָתָיִם”
\n“But Moses spoke before YHVH<\/a>, saying, “Behold, the sons of Israel<\/a> have not listened to me; how then will Pharaoh listen to me, for I am unskilled in speech?””
\nMoses tried to be released from the mission God assigned him by telling God that he has limited ability to speak. The Zohar says that God already gave answer to Moses about this issue as we read two chapters before, where GOD promised ‘ I, will be with your mouth, and teach you what you are to say’
\nExodus 4:10<\/a>,11,12
\n“וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה אֶל-יְהוָה, בִּי אֲדֹנָי, לֹא אִישׁ דְּבָרִים אָנֹכִי גַּם מִתְּמוֹל גַּם מִשִּׁלְשֹׁם, גַּם מֵאָז דַּבֶּרְךָ אֶל-עַבְדֶּךָ: כִּי כְבַד-פֶּה וּכְבַד לָשׁוֹן, אָנֹכִי”
\n“וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֵלָיו מִי שָׂם פֶּה לָאָדָם אוֹ מִי יָשׂוּם אִלֵּם אוֹ חֵרֵשׁ אוֹ פִקֵּחַ אוֹ עִוֵּר הֲלֹא אָנֹכִי יְהוָה”
\n“וְעַתָּה, לֵךְ; וְאָנֹכִי אֶהְיֶה עִם-פִּיךָ, וְהוֹרֵיתִיךָ אֲשֶׁר תְּדַבֵּר”
\n“But Moses said to YHVH<\/a>, “Oh, my Lord, I am not eloquent, either in the past or since you have spoken to your servant, but I am slow of speech and of tongue.””
\n“Then YHVH<\/a> said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Who makes him mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, YHVH<\/a>?”
\n“Now then go, and I, even I, will be with your mouth, and teach you what you are to say.”

\nLesson;
\nMoses came to the Israelites<\/a> with message and promise from God to deliver them out of Egypt and take them to the Promised Land. The people didn’t listen to him because of their low spiritual state and hard work.
\nIt’s hard for us to imagine that a messenger of God comes with big promises and the people don’t even listen to him.
\nWe are all looking for signs from God to strengthen our faith<\/a> while we are ‘stuck’ in the daily routine of work, eat, sleep, repeat.
\nThe Israelites<\/a> didn’t have the Torah at that time and it was hard to listen to Moses when they didn’t have any spiritual level to connect to the message.
\nNowadays, we have the Torah and the Zohar as testimonies to the promise of God to take us out of slavery in our personal ‘Egypt’ and lead us to the Promised Land.
\nWe need to prepare for that event by lifting our spirit through daily study that would block the forces that keep us in slavery. Our slavery is almost unnoticeable because our head is locked into the daily work routine to find bread for our meals.
\nNo matter how busy one may be, he should always find few minutes to study and lift his spiritual state. This would build the light of freedom and rest in his life.
\nThe hard work of today is always easy when we know that there’s a great reward at the end of it.
