\n82. עוֹד אָמַר רַבִּי אַבָּא, כְּמוֹ הַשֵּׁם הַקָּדוֹשׁ עָשׂוּ בְּאוֹתָהּ שָׁעָה. מָה הַשֵּׁם הַקָּדוֹשׁ ה חָזַר בְּאוֹתָהּ שָׁעָה לְדִין, אַף כָּךְ חָזַר דָּם זֶה בְּשָׁעָה זוֹ לְדִין, שֶׁכָּתוּב וְרָאָה אֶת הַדָּם עַל הַמַּשְׁקוֹף וְעַל שְׁתֵּי הַמְּזוּזֹת. רֹשֶׁם שֶׁל כֻּלָּם אָדֹם, לְהֵרָאוֹת שֶׁהֲרֵי חָזַר לִהְיוֹת דִּין לַעֲשׂוֹת נְקָמוֹת.<\/div>\n

\nGod’s protection of our homes continued on since the days we left Egypt. The markings on the doorposts replaced with the precept about installing a mezuzah on our doorposts. The Mezuzah has the name of God, שדי that is related to the level of Yessod<\/a> that connects the Light to the vessel. Our home is the aspect of vessel and the Mezuzah with the name brings the Light to protect us from the outside negative forces.
\nThe word for ‘doorposts’, ‘מזוזות’ has the letters ‘זז מוות’, which means ‘death moves out’. The Mezuzah has the power to protect and remove negativity from coming into our homes.

\nThe Israelites<\/a> marked their doors on three sides in the shape of the letter ה that is Malchut<\/a>. The Israelites<\/a> inside their home enjoyed the aspect of Mercy but on the outside the red of the blood represented the judgments that God inflicted on Egypt.
