85. וְאָמַר, עֹטֶה אוֹר כַּשַּׂלְמָה – זוֹ רֵאשִׁיתוֹ (שֶׁל הָאוֹר) שֶׁל הַיּוֹם הָרִאשׁוֹן. נוֹטֶה שָׁמַיִם – כָּאן נִכְלָל הַשְּׂמֹאל, וְלֹא אָמַר מְאֹד, נִכְלָל הַשְּׂמֹאל בַּיָּמִין לִהְיוֹת מֵאִיר בִּכְלָל שֶׁל שָׁמַיִם. הַמְקָרֶה בַמַּיִם עֲלִיּוֹתָיו – כָּאן יוֹצֵא בְשִׂמְחָה אוֹתוֹ עֵץ הַחַיִּים, הַנָּהָר שֶׁיּוֹצֵא מֵעֵדֶן, וְנִשְׁרְשׁוּ בוֹ בְּמֵימָיו אוֹתָם שְׁנֵי בַּדֵּי עֲרָבוֹת, שֶׁהֵם גְּדֵלִים בְּמֵימָיו. זֶהוּ שֶׁכָּתוּב (אוֹתוֹ אִילַן הַחַיִּים, וְנִשְׁרְשׁוּ בוֹ אוֹתָם שְׁנֵי בַּדֵּי עֲרָבוֹת, שֶׁהֵם גְּדֵלִים בְּמֵימָיו, וְאוֹתוֹ נָהָר יוֹצֵא מֵעֵדֶן, וְזֶהוּ) (תהלים קד) הַמְקָרֶה בַמַּיִם עֲלִיּוֹתָיו. מִי הֵם עֲלִיּוֹתָיו? אֵלּוּ בַּדֵּי עֲרָבוֹת.

\n“עֹטֶה-אוֹר, כַּשַּׂלְמָה נוֹטֶה שָׁמַיִם, כַּיְרִיעָה”
\n“Wraps himself with a robe of light, stretch out the heavens like a curtain”
\n“Wraps himself with Light” is the aspect of the first day of Chessed<\/a>. “stretch out the heavens” is the aspects of Tiferet<\/a>, middle column that is called ‘heavens’. The Right and the Left are unified here to reveal the Tree of Life<\/a> but without the branch that is represented by the word “מאוד”, “Very much” (See paragraph #83) and connect the Left to the negative side.
\nPsalms 104:3<\/a>
\n“הַמְקָרֶה בַמַּיִם עֲלִיּוֹתָיו הַשָּׂם-עָבִים רְכוּבוֹ הַמְהַלֵּךְ עַל-כַּנְפֵי-רוּחַ.”
\n“He lays the beams of his chambers on the waters; he makes the clouds his chariot<\/a>; he rides on the wings of the wind;”
\nThe ‘chambers’ are Netzach<\/a> and Hod<\/a> where the waters that is the Light of the Tree of Life<\/a> comes from Binah<\/a> to the world.

\nJeremiah 17:8<\/a>
\n“וְהָיָה כְּעֵץ שָׁתוּל עַל מַיִם וְעַל יוּבַל יְשַׁלַּח שָׁרָשָׁיו וְלֹא יִרְאֶה כִּי יָבֹא חֹם וְהָיָה עָלֵהוּ רַעֲנָן וּבִשְׁנַת בַּצֹּרֶת לֹא יִדְאָג וְלֹא יָמִישׁ מֵעֲשׂוֹת פֶּרִי”
\n“For he will be like a tree planted by the water, That extends its roots by a stream And will not fear when the heat comes; But its leaves will be green, And it will not be anxious in a year of drought Nor cease to yield fruit.”
\n“extends its roots by a stream” is the aspect of connection to the nourishments of the Tree of Life<\/a> at the level of Netzach<\/a> and Hod<\/a>.
\nPsalms 46:5<\/a>
\n“נָהָר פְּלָגָיו יְשַׂמְּחוּ עִיר-אֱלֹהִים קְדֹשׁ מִשְׁכְּנֵי עֶלְיוֹן”
\n“There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, The holy dwelling places of the Most High.”
\nThe ‘streams’ that delivers the nourishments come from the highest level to provide us with fulfillment and happiness.
\nLesson;
\nWater is a source of life and the ‘product’ of the Tree of Life<\/a>. When we connect our roots, which is our souls to the Tree of Life<\/a>, we enjoy the nourishments that we need to sustain our lives.
\nThe river that spreads its streams comes from the ‘City of God’ that is Jerusalem<\/a> and the Holy Temple that is the dwelling of the ‘most-high’, which is יה YH, Chokmah<\/a> and Binah<\/a>.
\nIsaiah 55:1<\/a>
\n“הוֹי כָּל-צָמֵא לְכוּ לַמַּיִם…”
\n“Ho, every one that is thirsty, come for the water…”
\nOur souls get thirsty for the light and the prophet Isaiah tells us where to find it. The water is the light of the Torah. The study of the Zohar is the tool that helps us spread roots into the streams and draw water from the river that is the light concealed in the Torah.
