70. רַבִּי אֶלְעָזָר פָּתַח וְאָמַר, (תהלים פד) גַּם צִפּוֹר מָצְאָה בַיִת וּדְרוֹר קֵן לָהּ אֲשֶׁר שָׁתָה אֶפְרֹחֶיהָ אֶת מִזְבְּחוֹתֶיךָ וְגוֹ’. גַּם צִפּוֹר מָצְאָה בַיִת, אֵלּוּ צִפֳּרֵי שָׁמַיִם שֶׁמֵּהֶם שָׂמִים מְדוֹרֵיהֶם בַּחוּץ, וּמֵהֶם שָׂמִים מְדוֹרֵיהֶם בַּבַּיִת, כְּמוֹ הַדְּרוֹר, שֶׁהוּא עוֹף שֶׁעוֹשֶׂה דִירָתוֹ בְּבַיִת שֶׁל כָּל אָדָם וְלֹא מְפַחֵד. מַדּוּעַ? מִפְּנֵי שֶׁכֻּלָּם קוֹרְאִים לוֹ דְרוֹר. מַהוּ דְרוֹר? חֵרוּת, כְּמוֹ שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר (ויקרא כה) וּקְרָאתֶם דְּרוֹר, וְתַרְגּוּמוֹ חֵרוּת. וְזֶהוּ צִפּוֹר דְּרוֹר. שֶׁהֲרֵי מִיּוֹם שֶׁעוֹשֶׂה קֵן בְּבַיִת, מוֹצִיא בָנִים, מְגוּרָיו בַּבַּיִת חֲמִשִּׁים יָמִים, וּלְאַחֲרֵיהֶם נִפְרָדִים אֵלּוּ מֵאֵלּוּ, וְזֶהוּ עוֹף שֶׁנִּקְרָא דְרוֹר – חֵרוּת.\n<\/div>\n

\n“גַּם צִפּוֹר מָצְאָה בַיִת וּדְרוֹר קֵן לָהּ אֲשֶׁר שָׁתָה אֶפְרֹחֶיהָ אֶת מִזְבְּחוֹתֶיךָ יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת מַלְכִּי וֵאלֹהָי.”
\n“Even the bird finds a home, and the sparrow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, at your altars, O YHVH<\/a> of hosts, my King, and my God.”
\nThe sparrow bird lives around humans. It usually nests under roofs or attached to a house. The sparrow bird lay her young in the nest and stay with them for fifty days. After that time passes, they separate.
\nThe Hebrew name for this bird is ‘דרור’ that means ‘freedom,’ which is the aspect of Binah<\/a> that is on the 50th gate from Malchut<\/a> that is the aspect of the bird in the nest.
\nOur nest is the home that we create for ourselves for the study of Torah. The young we lay, is our work of drawing and continuing the Light we receive. We follow a process of sacrifices on the altar of life to reach Binah<\/a>, where we connect and enjoy all aspects of freedom.
\nLesson;
\nThe Bible uses different symbols like in this case, ‘bird’ and ‘nest’ to represent different spiritual aspects. These symbols help us see the world around us in part of the Creator, and there’s nothing but him. The sparrow supports his young for 50 days, which is the time required for them to reach the independent state.
\nWe achieve freedom when we follow every action as building a nest that is a vessel for the Light and continue the work until we reach the light of Binah<\/a>.
